Nah, it's not as punishing as soulslike games. You get different powers (boons) each playthrough which can make it easier and they are permanent upgrades which help with more lives and more damage.
not at all, the action doesn't take long to start, so if you don't like it, refunding shouldn't be an issue. (if you purchase it on steam that is)
It's very more-ish once you get into it. Nothing like souls games which are more like self punishment.
Sometimes you get an OP combo of powers and wreak havoc which is something I love in a good rouge like.

God Mode grants 20% damage resistance, increasing by 2% each time a run ends in death. The damage resistance caps at 80%. This mode was added to make the game more accessible, as well as to give players a way to experience the story of Hades more quickly if they wish.

GTA V has been consuming all my Deck playtime getting it. It’s still unbelievable that I’m paying GTA at 60fps on a freaking handheld! Just incredible and all these Steam sales and other storefronts make getting games at such good prices is amazing.
Amazing game with heaps of replayability. I should go back since I saw an interesting run with the gauntlet build
One of the best games I've ever played. Brought back the feeling of games being new again and not having seen it all for a while. It's just very well made and somewhat unique.
Can you play this on keyboard, or does it really need a gamepad?
It's a lot better with a gamepad, the game recommends you play with one.
ive played with both, started on keyboard and personally prefer it
gamepad gives you omnidirectional movement with the joystick so its easier to manoeuvre and dodge things, keyboard means your aiming projectiles with your mouse and its easier to hit things
definitely think its an enjoyable experience on both though!

I’m new to PC gaming, just got a Steam Deck. I’m not a very good or patient gamer. If I dislike Soul like games like Elden Ring and Returnal, will I find Hades too difficult?
I’ve watched a few Steam Deck gameplay videos of it and it looks interesting.
