Just saw some GaN changers being posted at the moment and thought I'd share one that I just bought recently. I haven't received mine yet so I cannot personally vouch for the quality however, the reviews look promising. Comes to $72.70 delivered if you choose "Direct Sea" however, choosing "Direct Air" for $83.57 (CN¥379.86) will have it delivered in around 2 weeks vs over a month.

Charging Protocols:
- PD2.0 / PD3.0 (Power Delivery 2.0 & 3.0).
- QC2.0 / QC3.0 / QC4.0 (Quick Charge).
- AFC (Adaptive Fast Charging).
- SCP (SuperCharge Protocol).
- FCP (Fast Charge Protocol).
- PPS (Programmable Power Supply).

Power Outputs:
- PD100 (Type C)
- PD65 (Type C)
- PD30 (Type C)
- PD30 (Type C)
- PD30 (Type C)
- PD30 (Type C)
- QC18 (Type A)
- QC18 (Type A)

I don't know if the seller would look at the delivery address and send the AU power plug by default or if you would end up with the CN/US one, so I messaged before I ordered mine and asked if they could send the Australian one and they said they would. I'd recommand maybe shooting a message if you do buy this, just to be safe since they do seem to offer it.

Let me know if you'd like to see more Taobao posts or if they are just annoying and no one wants to see them because I shop on there a lot but I don't know if anyone here actually wants to use that platform at all.

  • I've always found the platform so annoying to use and with verification they want some form of Chinese mainland ID for some weird reason(?)…

    • When does it ask you? I managed to get to the paying bit via Alipay with no issues so far.

      • When I haven't logged in for ages I get challenged occasionally. I just get customer service to ring me and they sort it. If you want English speaking CS it'll take longer.

Can you guide me how to use it? It's different with Aliexpress, is there anything really cheaper?

Can you guide me how to use it?

Not really within a single comment however, I can provide a brief introduction.

It may have changed a little as Taobao recently officially support Australia now and have an English option in the app. However, for me, I have three apps that make using Taobao a breeze.

      • Taobao (Android / iOS)
Taobao obviously being the app used to browse and buy such as Amazon, eBay, etc.
      • CAINIAO (Android / iOS)
Cainiao is logistics app that we have nothing comparable to in the west. It allows you to completely manage your packages/parcels in the one app. The main use for this app will be tracking stuff you bought along with consolidating orders*. It is seamlessly connected to Taobao via your Taobao account. Cainiao being connected directly to Taobao makes it extremely easy to use however, once Cainiao is setup you can now basically buy anything from China and not just Taobao, and have it forwarded to Australia. I haven't been brave enough to test this out yet though.
      • Alipay (Android / iOS)
Closest thing to Alipay would probably be Paypal. You don't need Alipay to really use Taobao and Cainiao however, it's convenient to be able to see and manage what you are spending in Taobao and Cainiao in the one place.

Okay, so you've downloaded those three apps. Now what?

You will want to create an account within Taobao first and then once that is all setup, you'll want to create an account for both Cainiao and Alipay. If and when you are prompted to link or login with Taobao on those apps, do that. You want all three apps to be seamlessly connected to the one account. I wish I could provide more details on setting up your account however I have been using Taobao for a few years now and I just don't remember every screen and prompt. I can confirm that you don't need any sort of Chinese ID, Chinese bank account or anything else like that. You're Australian number and Australian bank card will work perfectly fine.

From here, I'm going to assume you have figured out how to download all three apps and have your Taobao account linked across them. In the last 2 months or so, Taobao officially launched in Australia with an Australian Instagram and other social media accounts along with English being supported within Taobao and Cainiao (Alipay has always had English for the time that I've been using it). Now here's the hilarious part, do NOT use the English Taobao. For whatever reason, you will lose 90% of Taobao's sellers and items, basically making all this effort pointless. So for that reason, for now, I recommand leaving Taobao in Chinese or setting as Chinese if it defaults to English but changing Cainiao and Alipay to English.

Now, after all of that, we are probably ready to start shopping. A lot of people will recommand using your desktop browser to translate the webpages of Taobao for easier browsing and that is a great idea and definitely add things to your cart with the website however, just don't checkout on the website. The reliability and smoothness of the app is what I'd recommand for that final "Buy now" press. You caaaan order from the website but I personally just don't trust it to not crash as I had issues in the past.

I haven't talked about how to use Cainiao here or the checkout process but I don't want to leave an insane wall of text here that maybe no one would even read. I hope this brief explanation gets the ball rolling for you though. Taobao/Cainiao can seem extremely daunting and strange but I believe that is because we just don't have anything like it here in Australia. Once you learn it, it's actually very straightforward and you'll start wondering why we don't have something like Cainiao here in Australia.

*Consolidating orders, is the ability to reduce shipping cost by combining packages together into one parcel to send as one big one. This would be like buying multiple items from a website and they pack it all together in one box however, you have the ability to choose anything from all of Taobao to be sent together or not.

It's different with Aliexpress, is there anything really cheaper?

Correct, and as ttozh commented, you will almost always find stuff on Taobao cheaper than AliExpress, Temu or other platforms. Often times you can even find the exact same seller on Taobao that is also on AliExpress selling the same product but for 10%, 20% or more cheaper.

I would love if you continue posting items from Taobao/Tmall. I hate the interface + dont speak chinese. So it would be like a curated experience

  • Is it easy to make a taobao account and pay using an Australian card? I remember looking at taobao a whole ago and it asked for a Chinese phone number and address etc with ID

    • +1

From what i know, you need to pay with Alipay app. Accounts can be made with your Australian mobile number, same with an Alipay account.
Navigating it isn't so bad if you use Google Chrome and get it to translate the pages for you.

  • You can install taobao app from android playstore now. The app is internal translate to English.
Also you dont need any Chinese address and such.
Confirm can order and recieve straight through the app
I bought some stuffs the other day (by sea) and it came fine.

One thing is aware is the price is quite fluctuating

    • I'd like to know if this is really cheaper than AliExpress and Temu. You can inform any good deals if they are indeed cheaper than AliExpress & Temu.

Let me know if you'd like to see more Taobao posts

Yes, if they are cheaper than AliExpress and Temu, why not? Bring them on ;-)

  • If you want it translated in English, change the region to Singapore (top left icon on iOS) and then change language to English.
