  • 60hz.. wouldnt replace anything less than 120 even just for office. Spoilt i know but its unmatched.

    • That big of a difference huh,I didn't think refresh rates mattered that much unless you were playing games.

Yeah man. I remember going from an iphone 12 to a 13.. and barely noticed a difference (60 v 120). But then i broke my ohone after 6 months and went back my 12 while it was ebing repaired.. stutter lag city.

So much so i bought a 144hz monitor for wfh and ny god its easier on the eyes.

It depends on the work you do.
If you work on documents and spreadsheets, where most of the screen is stationary, then it's not a huge deal.
The second things become 'mobile' is the second you'll notice; anything with lots of scrolling, or lots of tracking your mouse, you can notice.

With that said though, for most people it's typically a very sharp curve, with a very quick taper.

People going from 60hz to 75hz will generally notice.
75hz to 120hz, 'gamers' will typically notice.
120hz to 140hz (and beyond) will typically result in widely split debates between people who notice a WORLD of difference, and people who SWEAR its placebo.

I too wouldn't take a 60hz monitor for office work, but I'd be fine with 75hz.

You're going to have trouble using a 4k display at 120hz in most offices. Typical offices will have a docks connected to a laptop using USB-C, I don't know about every manufacturer but none of the Lenovo docks support 4k 120hz on any outputs. You could drive 4k 120hz directly from the laptop but you may not be able to drive two monitors this way.

May be fine depending on your setup at work but if you have a standard laptop, dock and dual monitor setup chances are you won't be able to run 4k 120hz even with the high end docks.

    • Personally I can only notice the difference if I move the mouse around really fast

I got one of these for a cheap second work monitor. It’s fine for the price. Built in hub is trash but I don’t use it. Brightness and contrast are fine, colors are pretty meh, sharpness is good, no weird geometry issues, solid off-angle visibility.
