People will literally hand over their ID and spending data for $50 but then take up arms to protest government Digital ID.

    • The $$ is mightier than the sword.

    • +2

Yeah, i know a few people who are against the digital director ID and yet are happy to hand over all their details for a fiddy.

Maybe the government should adopt a referral system

  • +2

Ah rejected… and no way I'm giving them my real bank account

    • Me too, thought I'd use a secondary account but it "showed inconsistencies" so they rejected. Can't reapply for 7 days.

      • Just added some notes from their site in post, requires a bank account with regular income from an employer.

        • +1

Nah, I actually gvae them the account that my employer pays into - I just fwd it same day it comes in.

So they're obviously looking for mroe than just money going in

          • @blighst: Payments from employers can be identified using bank codes you don't see on the customer side.

            • @cook99: Yes, and this is the account that the employer pays directly into.

          • @blighst: Same here, I have wages come into my bank account then immediately withdrawn to external account each pay. Probably why MyPayNow has not approved me, yet.

  • It wants to set up a fortnightly drawdown, can this be cancelled?

    • I believe this is covered in site FAQS.

Can I pause or cancel a PayTo Agreement?
Yes. This is done by going to your internet banking portal or mobile banking app, selecting the PayTo agreement and you can either “Pause” or “Cancel” an agreement. Please note to gain access to Wagepay services, you are always required to have an active direct debit agreement, either on PayTo or traditional Direct Debit.

      • Can I just not accept the agreement on banking app side? They've already paid the bonus and I've made a repayment in full.

  • What?! application failed. Strange result. Says I am able to reapply after 7 days.

    • +1

Damn that’s gotta be hit to the ego, being declined for a payday loan is like a heroin dealer refusing to take your money because he’s concerned for your health in other words unless you are unemployed you can’t miss.

  • Is Up a bank they accept? Can anyone please confirm or be on the lookout when applying?

    • +2

Up bank was unfortunately not in the list when linking

      • Thanks. Not sure why I got downvoted by someone. The other similar deal didn't have Up so avoiding signing up if won't work for me.

        Thanks for confirming again ☺️

  • How does one make a repayment?

Never mind, website was slow to update and allow repayment.

  • +1

$5 bonus for leaving a review, dare I sell my soul any more 🤔

    • Does it require a 5 star review

      • My guess is they won't pay for a 1 star, can always edit the review after the $5 hits 😂

  • +1

Unfortunately, we were unable to approve you for an advance limit this time.
We noticed some inconsistencies with your recent wages, which is outside of our scoring criteria. We require consistent wages of $500 per week or more.
You can refresh your wage advance limit again after 7 days at 22/12/2024 17:14:55 AEST.

    Crap system. 🥲

  • Things I didn't think I would be doing this weekend: signing up to multiple payday lenders.

    Thanks OP!

edit: was approved and then received bonus some minutes later.

    • +1

Now comes the tricky part, trying to get them to close your account and delete all your data! Good Luck ;)

  • +2

This is why the poor stay poor

    • Exactly. Payday loan companies are a regressive tax for poor people.

  • +3

Bet this does wonders for your credit history.

    • +2

Yes it’s the first thing banks check when applying for a mortgage, regular payday advances…..check, loan approved lol

  • +3

Wow I didn’t even get to provide my bank details, unfortunately you don’t meet our criteria, I’m a doctor on $500K a year 😂😂😂

    • +2

      I’m a doctor on $500K a year

Can you hook me up with an ozempic prescription? I can send you $45.

    • The target customer base for these companies are single mums on minimum wages.

  • +1

You gotta love a business where their only claim to fame is that they don’t exploit their customers as much as traditional payday advance companies instead they employ less people and only exploit people partially as according to the letter of the law they are entitled to exploit desperate people much more than they do.
You go guys 5% per week is cheap compared to Cash Converters ;) But at least at cashies if your next pay can’t get you enough money you can leave your tv, phone and any other valuables there and get 20% of what it’s worth loaned to you at 30% monthly interest.
What a business, the owners must sleep like babies on their organic goose down and panda bum fluff mattresses! Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside doesn’t it ;)

  • +3

Surprised the website approves this sort of business, short term, high % loans, preying on people who are struggling to make ends meet already

    • -1

Come on mate, it’s a ‘bargain’ and it is available in Oz so it qualifies!
I hate these businesses only slightly less than I hate pokies operators, only very very slightly.

      • +2

pokies operators are saints compared to these scum. These are businesses that specifically prey on the vulnerable and desperate.

    • +1

That's why we are here to take their $45 then review bomb them into the ground

  • +1

Any moderators, is there anything we can do to stop this crap being promoted on here? OzB doesn’t allow gambling promotions and this I imagine creates business for these scumbags purely because it causes people to join and get preapproved when they probably wouldn’t have done so otherwise, meaning in a pinch they might actually take a loan from these guys.
I don’t think this community should be promoting or encouraging these businesses in any way shape or form and I imagine many others feel the same way.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OZB MEMBERS?

    • -2

If you don't like it, you can go in to your settings and block this company so you don't see submissions any longer.

For everyone else, this is a free country.

      • +1

For everyone else, this is a free country

Tell that to gamblers or gun owners. For me companies like this are far worse than what is already banned here. Though I think within reason they should not be blocking any legitimate legal deal here.

      • +2

By that logic I assume you think all the gambling companies should be able to promote themselves on here so that their offers can be OzBargained?
        I mean it’s legal right?
Interesting perspective, I mean they are offering desperate people a service which they are free to take up or not right?

        • I assume you think

tl;dr your opinion has been outvoted by Ozbargain leadership. Sorry for your loss.

          • @watwatwat: Those bastards, how are you ever gonna get rich as a financial wizard if OzB doesn’t let you know when there’s a deposit match?
Oh well, I hear now’s a great time to buy bitcoin ;)

    • +1

I’d love to take money off them, why can’t we OzBargain bomb them

  • +6

$50 is not enough to give scumbag vultures like these my info.

  • +1

As a lender these kinds of credits into the account is auto decline from many lenders. I understand here many are doing for the returns and not as a need. Sadly there’s market for these kinds of line of credit is unfortunate.

    • How far back do you check?

      • The couch.

      • +1

Last 90x days. Once off are okay. Recurring will be an issue.

  • Easy. Got my bonus and paid off in 5min.

I'm leaving my account open for referrals, but at least this company gives you an option to delete your account. Whereas mypaynow requires an email to customer service.

  • +3

5% fee and 24% interest per annum. I have worked in the banking long enough to see how these sort of loans ruin people's lives.

    • Please refer to steps 5 and 6 of this post.

If you follow these steps, you will actually take money from these companies, and thus you will save lives.

    • +2

      Organisations like this one.
      Prey on delinquency.

      Shameful.

  • Easy money!!

  • +6

    F payday loan companies!

    • -1

this, it's barely even a "deal"

  • +1

You have to think how much would you trade your personal data for a $45 profit, you can trust banks when you apply for bonus points on credit card, but this is a private company who may not have the same level of information security as a big bank.

If your ID gets stolen it will cost you more than the $45 profit you made.

    • +1

You have to think how much would you trade your personal data

And getting to have KBBQ for free was a sufficient price for me. :)

  • But how can I pay it back? where is the option?
