If you enjoyed/are enjoying Silo on AppleTV, you can get the book trilogy the show is based on for Kindle for $AU4.99 which is a pretty decent deal I think.

  • First one is so good! I kinda dropped off in the second, so not sure if it sticks the ending.

Huh, I didn't even realise the books Silo was based off was called the "wool trilogy". What an odd name

    • Wasn't there something about wool in the series? forgot what it was now its been so long since I watched it.
Silo is still a better name :)

      • +2

I thought wool was a great name - wool was used for the cleaning of the cameras went someone went out….but it was also about pulling the wool over people's eyes about the reality of the situation.

        • In the books there’s also the acronym WOOL, which refers to the overall project

          • @theMoebius: That prompted me to look it up again

World Order Operation Fifty(L Roman numerals)

        • Oh yes that’s right!

    • Pretty sure the book series is called Silo. The first book is called Wool. Never seen it called the "Wool trilogy" before.

For those not in the Amazon ecosystem you can also buy the same Wool omnibus direct from the author for 5.99USD, DRM free.

  • +1

The Silo series is deviating significantly from the book. The set up is the same and some of the first series. Second series is straying.

    • Enjoyed the first season. The reviews for the second don't seem promising. Will wait till all episodes are out before binge watching it.

  • Thanks OP. Been meaning to read them. Grabbed it on the US store for US$3.19.

Side note: Been wanting to get Kindle Unlimited however I'm being forced to change my kindle store to Aus. I've used my US account in Aus for the past 6 years and they're clearly detected that.

Same thing with Audible. Was fine using a US account in AU for years with a fake US address against my billing details (which never affected being able to pay), then they made some changes, and while I can use the account fine, if I try to purchase anything that's available on Audible AU, I get an error that it's not available, despite being in my US account.

Using a VPN doesn't seem to help at all. It's a pain in the ass, because AU Audible is significantly limited.

  • Thanks OP! Same price on Kobo FYI.

  • Same price on Apple Books for those that prefer
