  • Was thinking about it but guess I stay with XM5 with S24U.

Supported Bluetooth codecs: SBC, AAC, APTX ADAPTIVE (Need an Android with greater then Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 chip inside for aptx lossless, also Samsung/Mediatek/Google phones do not support this codec)

    • That's pretty poor.

I think most people buying this, would assume that it supports regular Aptx.

    • So aptx will work on iPhone and PC?

    • I am in the same boat and - don't do it mate

on S24U it works in AAC pretty disappointing

also compared to latest QC (SC or just plain QC which is latest gen) it sucks because controls are counterintuitive and ANC feels worse as background hissing is louder. I am sticking to my QC SC I got earlier this year for $160 something from JB Hi-Fi

I was hoping QC Ultra would replace 2 pairs of wireless ANC I have (QC SC and Px7 S2e) but no, it's actually worse than both. returning

the only thing ultra has going for it is looks, but overall build is nothing spectacular

Honesty mate it is more about not getting slammed if one of the pedants has an objection to the information provided or someone gets snarky about the deal and makes obnoxious comments. I wonder why the OP might be a tad concerned about those sort of people? Do you really think your comment was helpful? I’ve done a few posts and lots of comments and I didn’t think it was. Personally I want to encourage people to make a post even if they are timid. He is asking for leniency and helpful suggestions to improve his posts. Do you think you have provided that?

This guy literally proved why OP might feel hesitant.

  • are they any good?

    • +1

Yeah I much prefer them over XM4s I had. Very comfortable to wear and NC is excellent with very well balanced sound. The only thing I dont like about them is the physical button placement, there are two buttons and they are so close to each other, I keep pressing the wrong one and always get confused which is the on/off button as there is no labelling.

  • They are good but I'm having a problem with my headphone being creaking. Mine is batch September 2024…

And the website support is not great. I tried to return, and they told me to comeback sometimes later since they can't access database due to some internal problem?

    • my experience with online support has been good. my earpads were breaking, and the system wanted to replace the whole headset. i spoke to an agent, and they replaced the earpads for free.

      • Okay. I do want to make an edit. I have successfully get a warranty return from Bose (just now). Its prepaid shipping so everything has been good.
However, do note in mind that my creaking problem is not uncommon. There are a lot of threads on reddit about this (anyone DYOR before buy).

If arrived without creaking problem: The headphone is so good, I use a creative dongle for PC usage, the sound, the build, the comfort is absolutely amazing.

        • I use a creative dongle for PC usage,

Is this a Bluetooth dongle because your pc does not have Bluetooth? And where to buy this dongle?

  • I've used QC25/35 for over 10 years.
How do these compare, specifically from a comfort standpoint?

    • +2

Go into a store that has them on display and try them on yourself imo

What may be comfortable for one will be unwearable for another, everyone's head/ears are different.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted - this is the best advice.

Headphone comfort is (to some degree) subjective.

    • +1

Upgraded from a QC25, the sound and NC is a big improvement, but the cushions are thinner and less comfortable.

And then Amex spend $200 get $40 back?

  • I heard multiple people who got a pair yesterday and they ended up paying $314 only (w/o any cc offers) by using the welcome offer from Bose.

    Not sure if it’s fixed.

    • yes there was a bug before the payment page, but it is actually $379 when you put your card details in. I just ordered one and the price became back to $379 from $314

      • In the previous qc ultra offer, I found that the price fixes itself to the correct discount when you get to payments just like you mentioned

but for this one, i found that by inputting the Student Beans discount, then removing it then putting in the welcome code maintains the double discount and I ended up checking out at 314. (I tried to replicate the bug 3 times- 2 times it maintained the bug until payment, 1 time it fixed itself when it got to payment)

With amex $40 offer, it should make this ~$274

        • +1

I can confirm that the you just need to keep refreshing and input the code until the payment page showing $314, which is the amount charged to my Amex.
Now let’s hope they will honour and ship it, fingers crossed

        • Does anyone have a welcome code i can try this trick with? I signed up with a new account but i didn't receive any email with the code

    • +2

Signed up week ago but never received any code from them.

    • How do you get the welcome code?

    • Can someone explain in detail how to replicate this?

  • can someone please PM me one Bose student beams number ?

    • Check DM

  • Use a Techradar generated 10% off code to get it down an extra few dollars

  • can someone please PM me a Bose student beans number as well?

  • Can someone PM me a welcome code?
