Tangerine Manipulative Review Practice

I used the contact forms twice without receiving a response from Tangerine. I then resorted to their live chat and finally had my issue "resolved."

However, after this, the agent repeatedly asked me to leave a good review for him. This was followed by a text message requesting the same. Initially, I agreed because it seemed like it would directly benefit the agent. Soon after, I realized that they had linked me to Google Reviews. Upon checking other reviews, I noticed a pattern where many customers appeared to have been asked for positive reviews in a similar manner. This suggests that Tangerine might be manipulating Google Reviews by emotionally influencing customers.

Is this company actually terrible and this is hiding that? Anyone else experience this with their support agents?

  • I had this issue with my NBN plan. Through WhatsApp, they would reply once a day, and then, going through webchat and selecting customer service, it would cut me off. So, I selected sales, and it went straight through. By this point, I had already signed up with someone else and told the sales rep that I was leaving because of the poor communication. Now, they are trying to get a customer service member to stop me from leaving.
