AliExpress is now offering A$10 off A$80+ spend with AU PayPal Pay in 4. Previously it was a minimum of A$100 spend. Probably to be competitive with Temu's offer.

  1. Eligible Members.

To participate in the Promotion, you must be a registered member of AliExpress, hold a PayPal account with PayPal Australia Pty Ltd and be eligible to use the PayPal Pay in 4 Facility offered by PayPal Credit Pty Ltd (“PayPal Pay in 4”), except those employees, officers and director of the Promoter and their respective immediate family members, affiliated and subsidiary companies, as well as any company involved in the Promotion, together with their respective agents, are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. In addition, only natural persons older than 18 years who are residents of Australia are eligible to participate in the Promotion.

  1. Promotion-specific Rules.

“Eligible Transaction” shall mean a [SINGLE] purchase transaction whereby the Eligible Member:
Pay with PayPal Pay in 4 to enjoy AliExpress payment discount: AU$10 off for orders AU$80+ with PayPal Pay in 4

  • a) Offer limited to a max. of 23,000 redemptions.
  • b) Makes a payment of net amount of AU$80 or above (including any shipping cost and taxes.) on AliExpress using AU$10 payment method.
  • c) Routes the purchase to a shipping address in Australia.
  • d) Offer is valid for Australian eligible PayPal Pay in 4 Facility customers and only 1 redemption, during the offer period per AliExpress user and PayPal account holder with a min. spend of AU$100+ (sic, would be A$80) in a single order, including any shipping cost and taxes.
  • e) Discount automatically applied at checkout when you pay with PayPal Pay in 4.
  • f) PayPal Pay in 4 Facility Terms: Terms and eligibility rules apply (including possible credit checks), see PayPal.com/au for full terms, including the Target Market Determination.

For the purpose of the Promotion, any transactions that are subject to cancellation, charge-back, return of goods and/or refund or any other categories as the Promoter may at its discretion determine from time to time are not Eligible Transactions. The Promotion will be cancelled or returned along with any cancelled or reversed transactions.

Quota for the Promotion during the Promotion Period is limited to 23,000 transactions and is served as a first come, first serve basis.
Unless otherwise specified by AliExpress, each Eligible Member is only entitled to one-time Promotion.

      During checkout, select "PayPal Pay in 4" in "Payment Methods" section.
      You will see the $10 discount is applied.

        I just tried with a total of $101 AUD and Pay in 4 showed me 4 upcoming payments over $25, no discount.
        I tried adding another item to my cart so the subtotal (before tax) was $109 (total $116), chose pay in 4, still showed the full $116, no discount.
        I'm just clicking "PayPal" below the total in the checkout, then choosing Pay in 4 from the PayPal popup window. I don't see a "Payment Methods" section.
        Any ideas?
        Edit: I used a different browser, not logged in, and I see a "New shopper exclusive" deal for $10 off with Pay in 4. Is this a deal only for new users?

          You will have paypal selected, under payment methods on the left click change then switch from Paypal to Paypal Pay in 4.

      It may also stack with cashback for affiliated products if you do cashbacks. Highest currently is at TopCashback.

    Do these "Buy Now, Pay Later" arrangements, affect the Credit rating?

    I am against these sort of 'deals' which is normalizing 'owing a payment'.

      How does PayPal Pay in 4 work?

      PayPal Pay in 4 allows you to split your purchase payments into 4 equal instalments via PayPal's payment system. The first payment is paid at the time of purchase, with the 3 subsequent payments paid in fortnightly instalments. Instalments will be taken automatically from your nominated bank account via your PayPal account. There are no fees or interest charged for using this service.

      PayPal Pay in 4 is available to current Aussie PayPal customers who are in good standing. If you are not a current user of PayPal, you can open an account to apply. To use this service, you must choose PayPal Pay in 4 at a merchant's checkout online; you will then be taken through a short application process and given a decision in seconds. Pay in 4 is not available in-store.

      PayPal may perform a credit check upon your application, which may impact your credit score. This is important to keep in mind, especially if you are applying for multiple loans or credit. They may also report missed payments to the relevant credit reporting body.

      Edit: I had read it is a soft credit check but it's for PayPal US: Not sure why it's not the same in Aus.

      No. Applying for Pay in 4 will not impact your credit score. A soft credit check may be needed, but it will not affect your credit score.

    The paypal conversion rate is terrible. Used xe and usd coverted to $166.8 aud. Paypal converted to $170.68. So that "$10" discount is only about $6. Think paypal trying to encourage us to get used to using them for conversion.

    I have PayPal pay in 4 but only option in AliExpress at check out is PayPal.. within the PayPal app then the option to choose pay in 4 exists.. so it does seem somewhat targeted. Unfortunately I'm not targeted
