nbn 100/20Mbps $71/Month for 6 Months (New Customers Only), $81.95 Per Month Ongoing @ Spintel

120

First ever Post - Been with Spintel for 3 years and had a fairly stable experience. The worst thing about this company is trying to get through via phone. I find the best way is to press the selection for them to call you back, as they normally do so within the hour. Speeds have been good, every speed test I've done has been around minimum 92-95 Mbps and uploads have been on average 15-17 Mbps.

Unfortunately, as I'm an existing customer my price has gone up to $82, so I'm probably going to jump ship, but for new customers this is a pretty good deal after checking the rest of the marketplace.

I rang TPG, and they wouldn't match the price as they have a price beat guarantee advertised. When I questioned them why they couldn't match this deal, they advised me that they only match competitors who are on their list. I asked who was on their list, and they replied they are not able to disclose this information, I'm guessing Telstra is on your list!

Thanks TPG!

  • No issues with them either but have moved on
Was a bit annoying when I joined but responses via Whatsapp were fairly prompt.

    • Is opt-out straight forward? Do I just tell them I need it to communicate with my NAS or have to mention specific reason?

      • $5 a month to opt out. Just opt out and tell them nothing.

  • Still sydney only POP?

  • Yeah I'm with them but looking to jump to leaptel. Also check the speed using other methods as ppl have pointed out that these speed test URLs are whitelisted.

  • I got 100/18 for $69 for 12 months at optus

    • How did you get that deal, can you give more detail? Shows as $89 for the first 6 months.

TPG will price beat these Eligible Providers: Aussie Broadband, Belong, Dodo, Exetel, Optus, Superloop, Tangerine and Telstra.
I just singed up yesterday on price beat on Dodo. 1st month $90 (inc $10 postage for new modem) then $65 pm for (12 mth offer) 100/17mbps. 6 mth contract (no exit fees after that) then $90pm.

They even beat tangerine, for real? Wow, if they can beat Tangerine, they should've beaten this spintel offer. Anyway, good to know - Thanks!

I just switched over to these guys - Southern Phone on a 1000/50 plan and so far so good. Great ping and speeds.

    I am on FTTP.

Price deal is for 12 months too instead of the 6 in this deal.

    $65 for their 100/20
    $75 for 250/25
    $85 for 1000/50

I also run plex and blueiris fine. Just did an online chat request for a public IP at no extra cost. They said they don't have CGNAT.

    • I've seen Southern phone getting the third degree and complaints from OzB community - kept me away for a while. But you reckon they're pretty good hey?

      • No issues for me. Speed during peak also good. Getting 900Mbps.

The ping is also good on speed tests and in games.

    • How many times can you resign as a new customer with SouthernPhone?

    • I don't see a 1000/50 offered at the website.

      • I see it. It's their $85 plan.

Peak time speeds. Good ping too.

The Exetel one posted here with the 100.00 cash back a lot cheaper. Why are there postings of bargins with pricing that have been there for months.

Spintel used to be cheaper but nope.
