Broke The Pins on My Harddrive

Hi everyone, long story short I accidentally bent and broke the connector pins on my 12tb EXOS X18 internal hard drive.

Now I can see if I unscrew the piece that has the connectors off (the PCP), it's insanely easy to replace. The problem is getting the replacement part.

Does anyone have any suggestions, I've tried searching for second hand and dead hard drives but haven't been able to find any that have the same connector component.

  • Sata connection? How did you bend those?

  • Matching PCB board number replacement from AliExpress might work…

You'll need to get the exact same revision board and software to ensure data integrity. Given the odds of that and time spent looking, you're probably better off getting a new drive and restoring the back up to that.

If you broke the Sata connecctor It might be easiest to scracth the PCB till you can see the traces and solder some pins onto it, it should work but it won't lock down like the Sata connector can. If it where me i would cut a Sata cable and solder it straight to the HDD.
