[PC, Steam] It Takes Two $9.99 @ Steam

1360

I believe this is a new all-time low price for this game (overall 95% positive reviews on Steam, 8.9/10 player rating on Metacritic), if you want to buy it outright rather than playing it through part of a subscription service.

If you plan to play with some friends/family members that have their own PC, do note that you only need one copy of the game between you. The second player can download the Friend's Pass and then you can play through the entire game together.

    Fantastic game !

    • is this a relationship buster like Overcooked

      • It's very co-op but the two main characters aren't the best people. I played with a mate during covid lockdown, it was a fun platformer.

Not even close, my wife and I played through this and went looking for more similar coop games.

The difficulty is mostly in puzzles, with reaction and movement required for some bosses.

Honestly, so good. My 8 yo's love it. The best 2 player game I've ever seen.

  • damnit recently paid more than double…

For a game as long as this, good times playing with someone in hot seat I think it is still a great value.

  • so people single player this? I have only ever seen couples play this game lol.

      You can't SP it. It's strictly 2p co-op.

        You could almost say…

        It takes two.

        (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

It sounds lonely but I have played this by myself - it's a lot more difficult but can be done if you're up for a challenge

Fairly sure it is free this month on PSN Plus

There are other platforms besides PlayStation

      • +4

No shit. Lots of people have a playstation plus and if they're unaware this would save the $10

Kids absolutely loved this. Very fun co op game

After the divorce due to Overcooked, this is a good game to try and rekindle the flame. Of course, depends entirely on how good/shit your partner is.

I'm sure the opening sequence gave you second thoughts…

      • Oh nah I don't play games with my wife. Marriage would've ended already.

if you have xbox, this is on game pass.

Played through with my 6yo, frustrating at times but enjoyable

Even better and with a sense of moral, (if you know anything about satanicM$) it available on superior PS5 with PS+

  • +1

For anyone with PS+, it's free this month

Very fun game! Played this with the missus and she thoroughly enjoyed it (She's not much of a gamer)

Paid full price and would happily pay full price again, even though it's not the OzBargainer way, but this game was well worth the full price in my opinion!

  • Any thoughts on PC vs PlayStation?

In what sense? the question is a bit nebulous.

    • In general, whatever hardware you have that will run it best

I just finished playing this with a friend last night

    I had a great time.

It ran great. Few bugs. Despite my friend being on the other side of the world, latency was never a noticable problem

    Looks great. Colourful and fun.

The fast paced action was great and the game rarely felt like a slog. There were some very fun parts with handgliders and wasps.

Story was nice. A little bit too "family friendly" if you want something more adult, but I liked how light and "feel good" the story is.

The puzzles were largely on-point being just difficult enough that you need to give them some thought but not enough that they interrupt flow too much or likely to need to look up the solutions online.

Overall difficulty was about right too. Complete new players (who've never held a controller) will struggle, but regular gamers get a challenge without it being Dark Souls.

  • Can you do 2 player on one shared PC?

    • +3

As long as you have two input devices (e.g. 1 keyboard + 1 controller, or 2 controllers), you should be able to play local coop.

    • Yup I've done it before

  • Excellent game, have had multiple play throughs with the partner. At this price it's a steal.

Should also note, you only need to buy 1 copy of the game despite it being coop., the 2nd player gets a free download of the game that allows them to join your game
