I wouldn't say they're overrated. They fit a demographic that prioritise visuals and easy of use over sound quality.
But in saying that, a pair of Kef bookshelf speakers and a Wiim amp would have you second guessing this soundbar for a lot less.
I wouldn't say they're overrated.
I would. Perfect example of marketing allowing a subpar products to succeed.
that is a definition of what the mainstream is.
So what's your set up look like? And is it wireless?
So what's your set up look like?
Shouldn't your question be "what's your setup sound like?"
And is it wireless?
Are you allergic to wires?
Aesthetics bruh
@peeppeep: Cable managment "bruh"
@PainToad: Don't like management bra, live free
@peeppeep: With a 3.1 system it is very achievable to not see any wires. Have done this at home.
I just did the same, some crappy amp from 2005-2010 and with 3.1, sounds way better then what I had before.
this LTT video
good video, ta
A bunch of my old sonos products are eligible for the "upgrade program". I wonder If you could grab a bit of old sonos from marketplace and use it as part of the upgrade program? Ive got no idea…
Majority of the old products will give you 15% off.
TGG is already offering 15% off.
JBB Hifi have for $1518.10
The main issues though the way they handle the app rewrite and the general direction the company is heading to.
Thanks OP. But I will give it a miss.
I've heavily invested in sonos_have multiple playbase, beam, symphonix speakers. The new app just isn't reliable. Song switches take too long, the queue loses sync with the song playing, the system disappears and reappears often, it plays the song in the wrong location.
The price the consumer pays because the manufacturer move everything to cloud to gather even more metadata instead of leaving it local. Unfortunately my Actron ducted air is exactly the same as all at its all cloud based. It loses sync and have to open and close the app multiple times to get basic functionality such as setting a zone on off working. Truly horrendous.
Never again, personally I don't ever see Sonos older experience returning. The hardware might be good but the software does not deserve the premium price they are demanding.
I guess Sonos is working towards the overall app improvement? https://support.sonos.com/en-au/article/the-new-sonos-app-an…
Good to know they decided to add volume control finally.
Over the past several weeks, we have been beta testing several features and fixes, with a particular focus on improving system setup and the reliability of adding new products, volume control and responsiveness, and Local Music Library search, sharing and stability.
The app is the worst pos I’ve ever seen. It used to be lite and quick. Now it’s bloated and slow. I want to sell off all my Sonos kit
More general than this post, but my personal experience is line with this LTT video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4LFDPbbSVk).
I have a peiced together (5.1) surround system and it sounds way better than my (inherited) Bose soundbar, way better.
Soundbars are way overrated
