Phone Data SIM Cards for Hong Kong + Macau

I haven’t been overseas in about 6-7 years and last we went, we picked up a SIM card from a random place at the airport.

Where’s the go-to place these days?

Would prefer if it can cover both HK and Macau as we are looking to book a trip for about 2-3 weeks.
If there are physical sim and eSIM card options that would be great.

Thanks

  • 7-11 or any one of the zillion phone stores scattered across HK.

Check out this eSIM from CUniq, a HK provider.

HK$143 (A$28) for 50GB that works across HK and Macau.

Or, if you want to spend less you can get one from 3:

HK$33 (A$6.70) for 30GB and add on the Greater China travel packs for about A$3 a day which activate when you go to Macau and give you 500 MB a day.

    • The SoSIM $6 for 30GB is so cheap! Thanks. Purchased

    • The SoSIM card ended up rubbish. Did all the activation etc (done hundreds of these) and it's shows LTE in top bar but no internet. It can only navigate it's own website pages. Tried everything, even converging to the Travel data mode. Waste of money

  • Awesome - thanks!

  • I would recommend to pick up eSIM as well. Personally I find it more convenient. You don't have to go around the city to find one or buy an overpriced plan at the airport. Also, I recommend to choose a few options and compare them to see which one if worth the money. You can use comparison sites that I saw in the comments or I really like this comparison table on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/best_eSIM_providers/comments/1984tv… I personally use it before choosing a priovider and sometimes like to swich them up as well to see which one is better.
