Reviews don't seem very good?
Yep, seems not really well received
I've seen many very good reviews for these for the open listening experience. Audio quality and comfort.
The bad reviews seem to be based on call quality and price.
I tried one and ended up returning it after four days. Not sure if it’s just me, but it felt uncomfortable and hurt my ears—maybe they’re too big for this design. It might be more of a personal issue, though.
The sound quality is okay, but the gadget itself looks a bit odd, in my opinion.

I had a cheap knock off from aliexpress. Seems physically identical, but audio was too quiet and they broke after a sweaty run. They were quite comfy though.
Anyone considering these but not wanting to spend so much, consider Tozo open ear rings for around $60. They have a similar use and sound good, but a bit less comfy than the Bose style.
Shokz openair/open air fit offer better value I think.
I'd go with the Shokz too, these look and feel clunky vs what's available - including the open ear ring design by Sony

I think with unique designs like this, a lot depends on how well it fits a person's ear. The Huawei might fit one person better but the Bose might fit another person better, so do read reviews with that in mind. Not everyone is alike.
e.g. a lot of people panned the Samsung Buds Live (the beans one) but I actually really like it as it fits in my ear and sounds good for an open earphone.

There's definitely a premium. With some models you really do get more for your money (e.g. with ANC), with these I'm not too sure; it probably depends on whether or not they fit your ears comfortably. It's just not all black and white with these things.
Sony Linkbuds Open or nothing.
The battery in my Linkbuds Open died after about two years of very light use. Pretty disappointed.
Amazon algorithm price matched with TGG, $290 via Price Beat instead
