Bought! Thanks Op!!! Been waiting for this to go on sale so I can play on SteamDeck!

Still one of the best experiences ever - buy it if you've never played +1

    • Is this game best played on a big screen TV (better visuals) or portable on steam deck (more chance of completing it)

      • +1

Why not both? It's very portable and can still play it docked.

        • Pretty sure my XBX can deliver better performance/picture quality vs the deck docked, but the deck is portable and I can play anywhere, even away from home

@bheart: My personal opinion is the portability is far more valuable.
But I have a pc so my saves sync, for games where save transferring is difficult I tend to just play on the steam deck.

Thanks OP. I've been holding off on Witcher 3 for a long time (got a huge backlog already and not a lot of time to play anything), but this price was good enough and timely enough for me to grab it.

Great game. Pirated it then paid for it because I felt bad. Took me two attempts to get into it because it's an overwhelming open world, but push through at least until the blood baron quest to see if it grips you.

  • Got this on GOG. Not really sure whether to get it on Steam to play on the Deck. Mmmm…

    • You should still be able to install it on your Deck. There's Heroic Launcher as one option which allows you to install GOG, Epic and Amazon games on the Deck. There are other options too which I am not familiar with.

  • How time-consuming is the crafting component in Witcher 3? I don't enjoy games which require large amounts of time crafting e.g. Days Gone was too much for me.

    • +1

What crafting component? Making potions or bombs? Just need the recipe and ingredients. Making a sword or armour? Just need the diagrams and components. I wouldn't say it's even necessary depending on the type of witcher you build. You could jut use weapons you find.

      • Thanks, that doesn't sound too tedious.

        • Definitely not. Some of the higher end potions/bombs/weapons/armours require rare ingredients or a lot of money but like I say, not necessary to play the game.

  • Pretty much comment on this everytime it comes out for GoG. Witcher 3 + GTA are the only games I'd pay full price for with zero hesitation. It's been my 6th playthrough of Witcher and it's still as enjoyable as the last.
