        Also I should add you earn rewards points if you use gift cards, but not vouchers. And if you get a yearly VIP membership (was on sale recently for $10, normal price $15), you get 25% off and double rewards points. So if you’re going to Hoyts regularly enough with VIP membership I guess the discounted gift cards would tip in your favour.

    I’ve never done this before, but I remember someone else from another post querying whether you can redeem gift cards borrowed from competing supermarkets, scan them at the supermarket with the discount, and still obtain the discount.

    Keen to actually hear on whether this works, however i suspect replying to this will incriminate and alienate you haha

    Paypal spits an error - "We can't process your payment using your PayPal account right now. Please go back to the seller's website and try using a different payment method."

    nice deal! To get the full 28% savings on Hoyts, you should choose the flexible amount for the TCN cinema card. e.g. if you buy $100 + $30 Hoyts cards, it will cost $104, which is the amount you should choose for the TCN cinema card.

        OP mentions you can stack this deal with the Hoyts 20% off deal. In the Hoyts website, you can only order fixed value gift card. Say you want to get the $100 one. With that deal, it will cost $80.
        Knowing this, you first order the TCN cinema card. When ordering, select the variable value option and put in $80. With the 10% off, this will only cost you $72.
        Once you receive the TCN cinema card, add it to your Paypal account. You may be able to pay directly on the Hoyts website as well, but I didn't do that. Order the $100 Hoyts card, put in the discount code mentioned in the other link above, pay with your $80 TCN cinema card.

            @e1ghtgundam: my understanding is this type of gift card works like a prepaid credit card, where the store needs to be of Motion Picture Theatres (MCC 7832). So while it "should" be possible to use it on, say Event cinemas website to either purchase tickets and/or their gift cards, I'd defer to someone else who has actually tried that before.

            @e1ghtgundam: Yeah as long as it is a cinema. I don't think any reputable cinemas use funny MCCs so it should be pretty safe.

    oh my god…I didn't read carefully and woolworths has 20x point for HOYTS gift card this week. I went to a woolworths and bought the HOYTS one and found that it couldn't be used to buy gift card from HOYTS's web site.
