Brita Filters Online Real or Fake

Hi I bought some Brita filters from eBay that were destined for Brita turkey market. It says made in Germany and it's the "All in 1 filter" batch. How to know if its real or fake indeed?

Any QR code or serial to verify on real Brita website?

  • What else does the seller have in their store? Are they based in India?

    • They sell non related items

    Does it taste like asbestos?

  • Kmart ones work in Brita. It has done the job for you.

It's all a con if you are storing "filtered" water in a micro plastic shedding plastic jug ;)

    • The taste of Adelaide tap water is sometimes revolting due to the chloramine smell. I'll take microplastic over chlorine.

I last bought Brita Maxtra cartridges from Amazon UK for $6.20 each, delivered, on special after cashback (Cashrewards) in a pack of 12. If you're worried about the authenticity of an eBay reseller you can get the cartridges from Amazon for the same price.

  • Does the Brita Maxtra Pros don't have the flaps like the Maxtra plus? also the vents are circle and huge?

I bought the same product from a different eBay reseller (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/405353231972). Everything looked legit on arrival but when I installed it, it didn't work properly. The filter degraded within days and ended up not filtering any water at all. Have sent back for refund. Buyer beware.

I will go back to using non-branded ones which worked fine.

Thought I would test the water quality with the Brita branded ones but this experience has left me with a bad taste (pun intended)

    • yeah got mine, they are fake.. seller is from china but warehouse in syd

    • Prob some low quality activated charcoal in the cartridge

    • How are the amazon ones, "Crystal Pure" brand ones? Reviews seem great
