Gosh these are crap. Every third or fourth one breaks on the first tooth. Never had this problem with the non-eco ones.

    • Family likes to use these. I use good old fashion floss.

    • Really? How is it breaking?

      • +2

        Probably from the recycled materials

      • The toothpick folds on itself instantly. The floss portion is ok, but like OP says, a portion of them fray instantly.. Last year they had great floss and the toothpick was decent.

Agree, the non-eco ones are so much better. I usually end up using two eco ones… which kind of defeats the purpose.

    • There are two different recycled plastic ones…

These with the gaps in the handle, are complete trash. The other ones (solid handle) are my favourite of all the ones I tried. Not sure how they can get it so wrong

    • +2

I use the ecos and they are perfectly fine…. Do you people have cement for teeth or something? If you are breaking the handle your doing something wrong

The ones at Daiso are also cheap (I don't remember the price, sorry).

    I rate recommend https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/359883/woo…

Are they "eco"? No. But they actually work…

  • Best I've found are these https://www.coles.com.au/product/caredent-eeziflossers-biode…
Has the hook tip at the end as well which is great for getting under wire retainers if you have one for life like moi.

  • I'm feeling lucky and ordered 600 for $10.28 from AliExpress a couple of days ago.

My dentist has 2 kids to get through university…

Flossing wise these never break for me (definitely overuse mine should change them more often)

But I never use the toothpick end.

    • +3

      Ummm aren't they single use?

      • Stick it to the man!

      • I use mine for about a week or so. If it's not fraying and I give it a quick clean with toothpaste, I figure it's the same as reusing my toothbrush right?

I feel bad about the extra plastic but the string type doesn't work well for me unfortunately. And it's thrifty to reuse!

Yeah nah you might want to stop doing that…

          • @PainToad: That's written by a company trying to launch a floss holder…

            • +1

@hymio: Google it. There’s countless other sources saying the same thing.

              • @PainToad: Who cares what the experts say. MMR vaccine causes Autism. Most people don't understand causation vs correlation.

              • @PainToad: More importantly, the company/product doesn't matter the article is sourcing two independent dentists who said the same thing independently…I mean are we to believe there is a conspiracy among all the dentists saying the same thing?

            • @hymio: People love to tell others what they put into their bodies. Until when we want to stick it in their body then it is a no no LOL

  • These are still plastic, just recycled.

These are better if you want biodegradable ones
