Do They Still Discount Big Concert Tickets?

I remember years ago I got an email from a Ticketek/Ticketmaster saying they were selling discount Evanescence concert tickets.

I'm assuming because they didn't sell enough tickets, I went to the concert pretty cheaply.

I was just wondering do they still do this for big concerts now?

Thanks!

LOL.. if anything, they increase the prices (unless you want to sit in those seats with partial viewing or some rubbish like that)

Unless you want to be in the nosebleed seats, there are rarely any discount tickets for good spots at the good concerts.

The only time I have seen something was when Ed Sheeran was doing his tour, my wife's friend was MCC member and got tickets on the ground only a bay or so from the stage. She said it was awesome.

Probably when they overestimate the nostalgia anyone has for acts well past their peak popularity

  • The last few concerts I went to (Hatsune Miku, TISM, Hanabie) sold out quickly. Prices didn't reduce at all.

The only discounts you'll get is for acts that simply failed to sell well.

    • Don't know what the other bands are but Miku is certainly interesting. What's a vocaloid concert like?

      • It's… a little strange. The visual effect is convincing. The audience is absolutely manic. Every third person has a glowstick and adjusts the colour to match the performer, and they're waving those things in the air all show. Until seeing the show I'd never believe girls could scream with affection at an image on a screen.

I enjoyed it. Truly a unique experience.

        • It's just so unfathomably weird to me but I won't yuck other's yum. Was there a hologram or projection or was it just a character on screen?

          • @NotReallyaMoneySaver: Looked like a large LED screen. The smoke and lighting was done well and almost always hid the fact that it was just a large screen, at least when looked at head on.

  • Keep an eye on Tixel to get cheaper tickets from people who can't attend the show. I've used it several times to get cheap tickets close to the show. No problems.

  • Guns n roses concert in Adelaide in 2017. A couple of months before the concert they lowered the price of some tickets to stir sales.

  • The Weeknd was about 35 for general admission closer to the date

    Bargain it was
