Damn. Need one with a keypad

It'll be a bit of a task to find a nice one, given that the mechanical keyboard segment is somewhat dominated by TKL (tenkeyless) layouts.

Although, I think I've seen designs with detachable numpads, and also standalone numpads…

      • Logitech sell them with keypads, the lower models all have keypads and there is a pro with one.

What id like is the mx mechanical to be affordable. Afyer having a decent keybiard at home k had to replace my one at work as it felt like typing on stale bread.

Keychron Q or K series, they have full size boards

  • How many times I can use this coupon for one account?

  • Not many good reviews of the keyboard.. plasticy feel and keys wear out soon?

      Thank you, can skip this.

    • Have this and if you’re a gamer, expect the WASD keys to be worn out.

      • thanks. just cancelled mine.

      • What do u mean by worn out? Like not useable anymore?

    • What mech keyboard has good reviews btw?

  • If you have $100 and the time id reccomend building your own keyboard. You can buy the parts from AliExpress

    • Over just buying a Chilkey75, Rainy75 or Bridge75 (or the many other recent options)
None seem perfect and tick all the boxes for me so far but are getting close.

Where do you buy these in Australia without high shipping prices?

        • On no way. Does Aliexpress not do free shipping anymore?

There are some more local stores but there's more of an upcharge.

          • @Deco: Nah, I think the free shipping is only if its shipped by aliexpress. The stores that sell those keyboards are usually official and have normal or maybe even higher shipping costs since it comes from them.

      • I feel you. I've been looking for affordable (under 150 sans keycaps) split keyboard but they seem non-existent.

    • Care to elaborate? If you wanted something low profile non clicky where would you start? I don't think I understand the base boards enough?

First you'd need to consider whether you want a barebones or prebuilt kit - the former has no switches or keycaps, so you have to source your own. That's the way to go imo.

Once you've decided, search for a hotswappable low-profile keyboard - Amazon, AliExpress, Nuphy, Keychron, etc. - they're all places to have a look at. Or just look at YouTube for suggestions.

If you don't want clicky, then look for tactile or linear switches, they're your only 2 options other than clicky. Then have a look on Reddit or YouTube as to what people consider the best tactile or linear low profile switches.

If you go the barebones route, you'll need to source keycaps as well - again, look at Amazon/AliExpress for low-profile options.

  • Recently got the Aula f75 (reaper switch) and the Yunzii AL68 (cocoa cream switch) for about $120ea. Been pretty solid gaming and typing out of the box. Both compatible with Mac.

  • Look not a bad keyboard, but the connector is micro USB not USB-C, it has non-standard key sizes (so custom caps won't all fit so you'll have painted on key caps for some still), and most annoyingly, because the tray is so thick, it makes it quite high up.

So, yeah at this price it's ok, but the key caps are painted on so they will flake eventually over time as others have said.

    • Yeah the thicker size is gonna be a big no no for me.

  • Have had this keyboard as my daily driver for a few years and while I’ve enjoyed using it, it had some weird issues with the Logitech software and double pressing of keys.

Now using it at work and didn’t install any software and it seems to work fine again. At home now using FILCO Majestouch 2 TKL blue which feels a little sturdier and better feedback.

Worth it for this price IMO, especially for a kid or non-tech family member.

  • I've been rocking a mechanical Durgod since 2020. Still an absolute joy to use. And I specifically got the full 101 key layout.

Me too… Got a Durgod K320 for less than $100, still going strong today… Liked it so much I recently got another one for work off fleabay for $64 (new)… Only wished the programming software worked for Mac..

  • If this keyboard is like other Logitech products, like the mice, where you need to use the LGHUB software to access the extra features, I'd pass on it.

I have a Logitech mouse and headset and use the software for mice button assignments but then having the software messes with the headset causing me to have to uninstall and/or reboot til it works again. Good thing I'm a Ducky keyboard man.

  • If you’re planning to use it with a PS4 or PS5 for gaming then don’t count on it working for that. Not saying it won’t, but do your research beforehand.
