Was looking up a boom mic and stumbled upon Sony's offerings, they connect directly to sony cameras without any cable and have processing, noise cancelation, etc.
I wasnt looking for anything too professional, just better than the onboard mics. This seems to suit my needs great, YMMV. Never bought from Camera Warehouse but they are so much cheaper than any of the other shops, so I gave them a shot. We'll see.
Thats a great deal! I didnt want to carry and have to worry about charging more "things". DJI would be a better choice usually.

While you likely mean 'shotgun mic', just so others are aware, you can't easily use this shotgun as a boom mic (eg, on a boom pole) or even on a non-compatible camera - it has no analog output jack, power jack, or battery.
It requires a compatible Sony camera with Sony's proprietary 'Multi Interface Shoe' hotshoe for power and audio.
You are correct, I've been drowning in mic reviews and don't know why the first word came to mind was a boom mic. Thanks for the clarification!
