Safest Way to Receive an International One-off Payment

Morning all, I’m looking for some advice on the safest way to receive money from someone in Italy.

I'm in contact with someone in regards to buying an item from me that admittedly there is not much of a market for, hence I'm very doubtful a buyer could be found easily in Australia. I have no warning signs at this point that it is a scam, however I'm going to be very sceptical through the whole process.

I've effectively said no to PayPal due to them seemingly siding with the buyer rather than the seller if there are any disputes… Agree?

Has anyone here had experience with alternatives like Wise or similar services? How reliable are they, and do they offer good protection in case something goes wrong?

Are there any other platforms or methods you’d recommend for international transfers? Cash is clearly off the table.

I’m prioritising safety so I don't mind too much if I lose some in fees. I'm not sure on the total yet, but it would be over $2000, depending on what they want.

    I did some quick reading last night and started reading about this method not being as failsafe as it used to be as they could still do a chargeback, so I just struck PayPal off the list. I'm happy to be advised otherwise though as this would be simpler.

    No thanks, I'd totally go for $HAWK though, that seems legit.

  List the item on eBay, and get them to buy it and pay via PayPal. Film everything when you pack it

  How long have you had it up for sale and how desperately do you need the money? Personally I'd just wait for someone in Australia to buy it.

    I haven't actually put it up for sale, but I posted about it online a few months ago and it is now the second Google search result so people message me every now and then about it.

  Wise if BTC adverse for some reason …

  I use Wise. I've used it for 10 years and it's the best product there is for international transfers and traveling.
  Otherwise Hawkcoin would probably work too.

  Wise has no reversals. So safest for the seller
