$200 Moto Edge 50 Neo from Sydney Mobiles. Found Multiple Pre-Installed Music, Audiobooks & Files. Should I Be Concerned?

Hey everyone, received the $200 phone from Sydney Mobiles and received it on Tuesday.

Wanted to change my ringtone but found multiple pre-downloaded music, audiobooks and files. I did not install them nor do I think installed any software that might have installed them. These files include music such as Mary Ann's Place by Volbeat or Magic Tree House series. This was supposed to be a new phone that I set up from the very beginning.

I'm unable to find any resources regarding pre-installed music/audiobooks on Motorola phones so I'm really confused and concerned.

  • Was it factory sealed

    • I used a box cutter to open the seal so I'm going to assume it was factory sealed.

      • I wouldnt worry them

        • Sweet! Thank you :)
Just a bit confused why there's pre-installed music and audiobooks.

        • Messaged another friend with a motorola device (g84). Apparently all music files got transfered over from previous phone to the edge 50 neo. Could this be the reason why? I mean it now makes sense, considering my s20+ was originally my father's.

@NotReallyaMoneySaver: If you did a transfer of data, that might be just it

@easternculture: Yeah that's most likely it then. Feel a little stupid now in hindsight lol!

            • @easternculture: Yeh the transfer is very effective these days, don't think it missed anything apart from my non Play Store apps of course when I transferred from my Poco X3 Pro with custom 12 rom.

They just make it hard to use a cable now. I tried wirelessly first but it failed near the end, tried to use a cable the next time but the old method of 5 taps doesn't work anymore. Eventually somehow got it to default back to cable and worked great then.

Hmm, somebody actually got the fabled $200 Moto Edge 50 Neo. It wasn't just a myth.

    • I'd say at least 20 ozbargainers did, based on the comments on the post
