MG4 Accessories I Can Recommend

I saw some whining about too many MG4 forum posts, but then I thought, "stuff 'em". It's been almost a month and some of this information might be useful.

Please note, I am no Ali-fu master and the prices I paid may not represent bargains. But I received them promptly and they work as advertised. Prices listed are current at posting.

Three purchases I’m very happy with:

These tweeter speakers. $72 + ship from MGTitan. Super easily installed after watching this guy take the cover off at 10:15. It comes with the crossover harness - no wiring, just clips. Perfect fit. I’m middle aged, listen to the ABC and I doubt they are BOSE, but the sound change is like from AM to FM. Very highly recommend.

Code MGTITAN2024 was 20% off, may still work. I added these pedal covers for $33 for free shipping. They look good and fit well, but I haven’t driven much with them.

This wireless Android Auto dongle Aliexpress Choice item, showing US$20 right now. Plug and play, swaps between two phones.

V2L Nice design, AU plug. Three resistance settings, no instructions, but it works on one. Display shows draw. I’ve only given the car a quick vacuum with it.

Other Aliexpress purchases

Film to cover piano plastics. US$10. OK to apply, but patience required (wife’s not mine). No signs of marking on interior - still looks great.

Screen protectors. Fit and finish is fine. US$8

Boot cover. US$28. Fits well, bit slippery.

Key covers US$2.50. Cool.

Seat pouch replacement. US$5 Fits well on passenger seat, with bottom strap in behind your bum but you can’t see or feel it.

Floor covers US$50. Fit is only OK on the driver’s side. I like that it covers everywhere and it is easy to clean but I wouldn’t buy again.

I'm still looking for a good light solution for the back seat, a low-reflection dashboard cover and great car mats, if anyone has any recommendations.

    Be very very careful with those floor mats that they don't move around, could very easily go under the pedals etc. Even worse that you say it's just "ok"

    There's a reason they now enforce the locking tabs for floor mats…

      I hate that the ma ufacturer floor mats i got with my vehicle didnt have clips for the passenger front. Its good for the driver, should be for passenger too. But i guess saving 12c on the floor mat kit was worth it.

        I guess it's because unlike the passenger, the driver is using the brake pedal

          Passenger definitly goes for the brake pedal if supervising a learner.

            @Euphemistic: Manual hand brake or electronic brake, yes. Not the brake pedal; how do you swing your leg over the centre console? Only passenger that can reach the brake pedal is a driving instructor's car that has two brake pedals.

    I highly doubt that… This is more akin to "buyers bias" than it is to improving sound system quality. You spent money on it so your brain is tell you it has improved the sound quality.

    Why? I dont plan on dragging my screen along the ground any time soon…

    Boot cover

    Gross. They are awful. So tacky looking. Should have got the rubber one so it is at least waterproof.

    Key covers

    Why? They are just keys.

    Seat pouch replacement

    Next you will be getting beaded seat covers… FFS. These make it look like an Uber… in Pakistan.

    Floor covers

    Again, gross. I bought these for my Atto because they were the only mats available at launch to buy anywhere… Just no. They lasted 1 drive. They got super dirty, looked tacky AF and the drivers side one jammed up under the accelerator. Added to this, they were not waterproof with all that stitching and would take forever to dry if they got wet.

      what else did you get from aliexpress and what is your experience?

      I've started to do the same because of black friday and curious to see how it turns out for my ev. My purchases are a mix of pragmatic and aesthetic like putting a sprout on my car lol:

        I got the rubber boot mat with the well edge to keep any water or fluid in.
        I got a dashmat because the Atto3 dash is awful and the wrong colour.
        Carpet floor mats because the “fake leather with diamond stitching” were shit.
        I too got the same V2L adaptor… not because I use it, but because that one time I need it, I would rather have it, than not.
        I got a type 1 to type 2 adaptor because one of the free chargers near me was type 1.
        Last thing I think was some of those foil backed sunroof block outs.
        Oh, and the centre console tray because in the Atto, the centre console is about 4 feet deep.

        What I didn’t get was, pedal covers, key covers, screen covers, speaker cover, door handle covers, steering wheel covers…

    You have to supply your own speakers when you buy an mg?

    Sorry but half/most of that stuff is tacky as hell.

    Diamond stitch floor mats look horrible in a Lamborghini as they look cheap, tacky and just down right odd.

    Perfect for an MG then.

    If you look hard enough I'm sure you could find a wireless charging pad to save the hassle of plugging it in. Failing that get a pantograph so you can charge while driving on the tram tracks.

    When you say "swaps between two phones" do you mean that it automatically connects to the different phones of two regular drivers? Do you know if this works if one driver uses Apple and the other uses Android?

      Yes, it connects to the different phones of two drivers. Both are Android.
