Hi,
This may be an old issue but it just hit me.
Today I saw a US$79.00 charge on my credit card fro Amazon Prime 866-557-2820 US.
I looked everywhere trying to find out what I had bought from Amazon on/around 14/Dec.
I could not find anything.
I thought someone used my credit card details and I was about to call the bank.
Then I thought searching for "Amazon Prime 866-557-2820 US" on the internet, then I realized it was Amazon had deducted this money for my "prime membership".
I’ve been charged $79 for something I don’t remember that I asked for!!!
Straight away I got into my Amazon Account and cancelled it and asked Amazon to refund the money.
We'll see if / when it happens.
I think AMAZON is ripping unsuspecting people off.
If anyone else wants to check/cancel prime membership
Here’s how to cancel it.
- Click “Your Account” link on top right besides the Help link
You should see 5 subcategories:

"UNLESS YOU NOTIFY US BEFORE A CHARGE THAT YOU WANT TO CANCEL OR DO NOT WANT TO AUTO RENEW, YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR PRIME MEMBERSHIP WILL AUTOMATICALLY CONTINUE AND YOU AUTHORIZE US (WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU, UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW) TO COLLECT THE THEN-APPLICABLE MEMBERSHIP FEE AND ANY TAXES, USING ANY CREDIT CARD WE HAVE ON RECORD FOR YOU."
Thanks for you post anyway, I went into the Your Amazon Prime Membership setting and turned off Auto Upgrade.
