Got these for $150 at Nike a month ago or so!

    • +5

Damn, shame I missed it. Crazy to see Jordans go on sale nowadays lol

      • Yep! It's a great time to be a sneakerhead!

      • +1

Yeah seems like the value has really dropped out of Jordans the last year or so (look at the Nike stock price)
Crazy sales last July getting J1 highs for $100-125. Don't think i'd pay more to be honest (although that cwy looks sweet).

Picked up 3 pairs of good J3s in the previous sales as well, from $132 to $165, bargain for classics like those.

      • Im still waiting for mocha AJ1 to go on sale #foreverwaiting

        • ooh.. sale on the mocha cw would be sweet
ebay prices on those are ridiculous

    • +1

Damn, wished you had posted it here

  • Do people not line up for these at stores anymore?! Haven't been in the sneaker world for about 10 years.

    • shoe market died like last year, well at least jordans

      • +1

I'm actually glad it's died. You can pick up good Jordan 3's and Jordan 4's no problem now.

Not even sure why stores have raffles when they list the shoe for sale at retail straight after launch.

        • Hi, when you say Jordans 3 and 4 no problem do you mean actual originals or reissues or update versions etc?

    • +1

A lot of the popular colourways and collabs were released over the last 2 years so it's died down a bit now. A lot of the new stuff this year just didn't look good to me.

    • They did until recently this year when it's died because they are flooding the market and not limiting releases now, and it was an absolute joke. Everybody in line waiting for Jordan's in the past have multiple bags and you can see all the little people rushing from Nike to JD to Footlocker to pick up pairs to resell them on eBay for 300% above retail. I'm happy Nike is producing enough for everyone now, they destroyed their brand by marketing to resellers. General public has kind of lost interest in Jordan's because of Nike's scum tactics hence people looking to other brands because you can actually get a pair.

The only Jordan's that sell now are collabs, SB x Jordan 4's, Jordan 3 Balvins, various AMA Jordan's. Everything else just sits, including bred and good colorways like black and white and red.

    • I've seen a couple of lines in Brisbane here and there.

But yeah, people just don't have the expendable income for shoes when you can only wear 1 pair at a time lol

  • Have the interiors of these shoes been updated since the 80s?

As in, are they comfier now?

    • +1

Different materials and minor differences, from what I know. There's also a Zoom model with more foam + designed for comfort. https://www.nike.com/au/t/air-jordan-1-zoom-cmft-2-shoes-xSh…

A lot of these retro rereleases are worse in quality since they're made for looks and not performance anymore.

Jordan 1s are not something you'd wear if you're on your feet all day. It would need the insole replaced for better comfort.

      • I've found the new Jordan's (1's, 3's and 4's) are pretty good quality for a mass-produced shoe. Recent Jordan's 3's has lasted 1.5 years and still going strong just normal tear and wear. Recent pairs of Asics Kayano lasted 3 months which is pretty shit.

  • Saw these at the Nike Employee store last week for $135.

  • +4

I'm loving the collapse of the sneaker market atm. Don't have to enter multiple raffles, zero frustration from getting outbotted on Nike website etc etc. Picked up the BC3s super easy on release day when the 2018 release i went to my local footlocker at 8am and was still 10th inline.

Saw the Fear 4s in Nike store the other day 20% off which would have been unheard of 2 or 4 years ago when people were paying hundreds over retail for the OG release.

    • Now if only they could do this for the SB Jordan's and Balvins. Only 2 drops I've missed as of late. Seems COVID money has been spent, no hype anymore.

      Love it!

  • +2

This money needs to go on the Black Cement 3, friends. Footlocker has 'em in stock today.

    • Just looked them up, $300?
They look very similar to the green glow | wolf grey ones I got for around $165 -195 on sale. Pretty classic with the elephant print.

      • BC3's are very nice, better colorway than anything Nike has released since the White Cement 3's and probably since the Pine Green 4 SB's.

        • Yeah they look sweet. I've got the white /midnight Navy ones which are super clean, a bit similar to the wizards.

I love the 3s, not highs not lows. The J1 kind of feel generous (but have done up loose so they move a bit when you're walking.

      • +1

Yeah, the nerds froth over the classic colourway. I did consider the green glow… I agree they're a similar vibe.

      • Black Cement 3 are one of the OG colourways that Jordan wore on release in 1988 hence why they are more coveted by collectors. Same way the bred or royal Jordan 1 are more sort after than these rando navy Jordan 1s.

        • And even among the dozens of OG colourways on the various Jordan models, the Black Cement 3 is generally regarded as one of the top 3 Jordans ever.

Over the years I've found that I wear my mostly-black Jordans more regularly than ones that are other colours. A bit more low-key, less worry about getting them dirty, feels more of a natural choice for night-time wear.

        • Yeah even so, with times as they are you should be able to get the BC3 less than RRP. Probably have to wait 6 months for the sales.

          • +1

@G-rig: Yeah if you're only half keen on owning a pair it's possibly worth waiting and seeing. Personally I think they'll sell out at full price.

          • +1

@G-rig: Never know, i did see some white cement 3 go on sale when they released but BC3s are one of my favourite colourways so I'm happy to buy it at retail as my 2018 pair needs replacing. I just hope the sneaker industry is in the same slump when the Bred 1s and Metallic 5s release in 2025.

  • +7

Jordan 3 BC sitting, best retro release of year. All time clasic.

  • +3

Great time to be a Jordan fan and a sneakerhead.

  • Reckon this looks nicer with white laces

  • God HiTops are HAPPY.
