I bought one of the ITX deals from techfast earlier this year.
It's an i5-12400 and an NVIDIA RTX 4060
The case comes with a PCI 3.0 riser.
I've been struggling, since I bought it with what I think are sync issues, both image an audio drop for a few seconds then come back. It happens every few minutes, enough to be annoying.
I re installed windows, tried different settings both in and out of games, to no avail.
It turns out that the RTX 4060 uses 8 lanes, regardless of PCI speed.
So it ends up only connecting as PCI 3.0 x8!!!
So I ended up buying a 4.0 riser cable, and it seems to have fixed the issue, the problem is the cable is not suitable for the case, and I haven't found any that are.
Anyone has any experience and chime in?
Thanks
What does "not suitable" mean?
The 4060 can and does run on mobos with only Gen 3 slots with the only downside being lower max bandwidth
Lower Gen 3 bandwidth is a completely separate issue to image drop outs with a riser cable - this usually means the cable is poor quality and/or has insufficient shielding
Have you spoken to Luke @ TechFast re: the results from your troubleshooting?
