Hi, I want to buy the new 27 inch Apple iMac but I want to wait for a discount. I know JB and Dick Smith often do 10% off.
Does anyone know if there are any upcoming Apple sales like that?
Thanks

Yeah I keep missing them :(
I've signed up to the dick smith newsletter so let's hope they have another one soon.
I just can't bring myself to pay full price.
Wait for boxing day, if there isn't sales then visit a few stores and negotiate.
Mention that you regularly see 10% of mac deals and ask how cheap they'll be willing to go.
I might try to do that this weekend. Thanks.
Thought of getting a refurb from the Apple Store? Free delivery and full 12-month Apple warranty, but $100s off new price.
Yeah, I had a look but they don't have the new slim line iMac yet. I'm tossing up between that and the new retina Macbook pro which they don't have refurb either.
I figure the best discount I'll get is the 10% off. I'm bummed I missed the last one.
Just ask. One of them will say yes. Sounds like you've wasted too much time already wondering if someone will say no.
Walk up to a salesman (has to be somewhere they earn commission ie HN, otherwise there is nothing in it for them) and ask them if they want an easy sale. They will probably say yes. Then say Id like 10% off this mac and I'll purchase it right now. If they winge, say you regularly see 10% off macs at the opposition blah blah..
Being trained to be a salesman the idea is to get the customer to keep saying yes, so keep asking questions you know the answer will be yes. Then when it comes to the crunch and closing the sale the customer is already used to saying yes so they will be more likely to go ahead. Now all you need to do is use that against them :D
So I put myself out there and asked for the 10% off and I got it.
I bought the Macbook Pro Retina from Myer for $2250 plus I got an extra $250 off by using that Myer gift card deal making it around 20% off…
I think… I'm no good at maths.
Thanks for the advice.
I know they just recently had one
