OurDeal referral credits - how do they work?

  OurDeal promises to give you $10 credit when you refer a friend.

  However, I've found they are giving you $10 "discounts" which cannot be used on all deals and for which there seems to be no available information about their limitations and how they can be used.

  That's why I'm asking if anyone has experience with them.

  I don't want to try purchasing the digital scales and find I can only use one discount.

  I can buy digital luggage scales from Tmart.com for $9 and I don't need another adaptor.

  So, if I can get the price under $9 using discounts (3 discounts hopefully -> $0 price tag), I'd like to make the purchase.

  But I don't want to end up being with only 1 discount applicable and OurDeal asking for $19 (more than double what I can get the scales for).

  I referred a friend earlier this year, and I only got a '$10 discount'. You can only use 1 discount code per (eligible) deal, so no freebie :( sucks.

  Sort of misleading I guess. I assume credits have less restrictions…

  Thanks JLove. I ended up playing around with them and hadn't come back yet to report. :)

  The thing is, they don't even think they are giving you "credit" although that's what they promise you.

  When I went to an elligible deal, one which did not say "discounts not allowed", they clearly said I had $0 credit on the right hand side of the screen and then separately listed all the "discount" vouchers I had.

  So even they admit they haven't delivered what they promised.

  Then looking at the items you can get a single $10 discount on … :S

  There's a travel scale with an international power adaptor and they want $29 for it. I can buy it from Tmart for $9! The travel adaptor maybe $5 … :S

  Disappointing "referral" … though I thought someone on here was able to use referral credits, once, for something good.

  Ourdeal changed the referal system a lot, at first you give $10 credit, which is like really money, and you can accumulate to use on item. Later they gave you $10 code, which you can redeem on any $10 plus items, now the code only works on order large than $50, that's why I hardly use them now.

    I saw you can use them on some items < $50, but it's still not worth it.

    eg They had a deal for a digital travel scale and international power adaptor for $29.
    $10 off it's still $19.

    But I can get the travel scale for < $9 from TMart.com and an international power adaptor will probably be < $6. So all up, by using the code, I'd be $4 out of pocket :S

  Has anyone recently got a $10 referral for somebody they don't know?

  Plus… I don't even have an account with them!
