[QLD] $25 Hair Cuts @ Fresh Hair Cut (Brisbane CBD)

90

Was just walking past and stumbled across this new barber in Brisbane CBD offering cheap hair cuts. The location is in Elizabeth Arcade next to New Season Asian Thai restaurant.

The shop has only been open for 2 months but for one of those months the owner was back in China and it was closed, so he is trying to build up a customer base.

Basic cuts are $25 for the next month or so until after Christmas. If you want more than a basic cut expect to pay more.

They are open 10am to 9pm everyday.

You can also book by sending a message to 0478621409, however it is just one guy running the shop so I’m not sure if he will have time to reply to messages if he is cutting hair. I went in on Sunday afternoon and only had to wait 5 minutes.

EFT facilities are still in the process of being installed, so bring cash or you can use PayID.

You will also get a loyalty card at the end of the cut where you will get a stamp for each visit, and after 5 cuts your 6th is free.

Very happy with the service I received and the price I paid.

After the promo pricing of $25 for the next month, the owner said he is hoping to maintain the following pricing for the next year:

Man $35
Woman $35
Kid and Senior $30
Buzz Cur $25
Zero / Skin Fade $40
Beard Trim $15

Pretty cheap pricing for the CBD.

Just trying to help them out because I got good service for the price paid. I get my hair cut every 2 weeks so this will save me a lot of money. The prices in the CBD for a skin fade are normally around $60 these days. The owner is a Chinese student so he definitely didn’t write the above.

You seem to have gained a lot of info from them during your brief encounter

        • When I walked past on most days it was always closed, so yes I had a lot of questions for him.

        • +2

He has more info than the owner

"I get my hair cut every 2 weeks" lol

        • Welcome to fade life.

Or I guess it could just be a buzz cut. But that doesn't make sense coz you'd do that yourself.

          • @MonkDog: Being attractive is the most important thing there is
Make sure to keep your hair spotless and clean
Cut it at least every two weeks
            Once every two weeks
And if you see Johnny Football Hero in the hall
Tell him he played a great game
Tell him you liked his article in the newspaper

  • 25$ is a decent price for CBD, can't justify to myself to pay more than that per month so I have to travel out to keep under budget.
Anyone know of places in CBD that does simple men's cut for 25$ and under as a usual price?

F10 and those fast hair cut places are $15. All over shopping centres like Sunnybank plaza garden city etc

      • Nice recommendations. I've been to the F10 downstairs Uptown/Myer Centre. Funny story, I've showed him 3 different simple men's hairstyles over 3 visits. Each time, he gives me the exact same haircut. Hoping for something a little bit better without paying 40$ like the other CBD places

    • In the CBD as mentioned by the poster above, F10 does cheap cuts although I haven’t personally been there. Been meaning to try them. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ytgPwNx5PQyyYbRW6?g_st=ic

Otherwise Julie’s Place in the Valley is cheap too from what I hear - https://maps.app.goo.gl/w7c3ko8yRDLCWs1b8?g_st=ic

There used to be a hair school in the CBD where you could get a cut for $5. Not sure if they are still there.

    • That was the one on Adelaide Street? I remember hearing about it but not sure if it is still around..

Still there, same location but now it's $10 and by appointment only.

I went there in about 2004 when I was at uni and the haircut sucked so badly I never went back.

$40 for a zero/skin fade is pretty good assuming the barber got some skill.

the cutting bar in Buranda does a cut for $10

  • +2

    $15 would be a deal

  • I only pay $25 - and that includes a $10 search fee

Tier 1 is cut it yourself. Not so hard. Tier 2 is $15 for a cut at one of those asian places that probably don't pay their staff legally

  • Having hair to cut sounds bothersome

  • +1

One has to wonder how someone is paying rent at the Elizabeth Arcade (a boutique shopping building) and covering bills, and paying themselves for $25/haircut, using a single barber and closed for weeks…reeks of money laundering.

  • The price board shows expiry of 25 NOVEMBER 2024.

    • Correct, however it has been extended another month until just after Christmas. Just ask old mate.
