Quality Heat Pump Drier under $1500 or So, Quiet. Experiences Please

So our Esatto which is around 3.5 years old just started throwing up the 'full' light after a bout 10 minutes of use. Yes I clean all the filters and the condenser regularly, The drain pipe doesn't seem clogged as water does make it to the tank. According to ProductReview this is not an uncommon problem https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/esatto-ehpd7

Have currently tipped the unit forward and a bunch of water came out of the front through the condensor so I'll let it sit there overnight and if that helps.

Have sent emails to appliances online and the Aussie distributors. If they don't come to the party I'll be looking to replace the unit, I don't mind paying a little bit more if it gets me a better quality, longer lasting machine. So looking for recs frm people who have their units a few years and can recommend a decent brand.

TIA

  • I have nothing bad to say about my Samsung 9kg Heat pump dryer
    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-bespoke-9kg-heat-pump…

  • I’ve got a Bosch Serie 8 heat pump dryer, have had it for around 4 years. Absolutely faultless. You get what you pay for :)

If I was doing it all over again I’d buy the Beko hybrid heat pump - best of both worlds, a quick tumble dryer when you need something in a hurry, or an efficient, gentle heat pump when you have the time. Here’s a link.

    • Cheers. Does the Bosch have a removable condenser?

      • +1

I’ll be honest, not sure. It’s advertised as having a self cleaning condenser, and I’ve never had to clean anything other than the lint tray, around the door seals (it collects a bit of lint around the bottom), and once every 6 months or so I take out the water tray and give all of that a good clean. No idea how, but lint somehow, albeit very slowly, makes its way in there.

I should clarify that this dryer gets a serious workout. Share house scenario, and we’re all too lazy to hang out our washing. It would do 10 cycles a week. It’s used by people with varying degrees of care and attention and has held up really well.

        • Sounds good. We only use our when the weather in inclement, sometimes that might mean 3-4 loads a week but normally it just sits there., :)

      • removable condenser

No heat pump has a removable condenser, that is the older condenser dryers that used a heating element.

Some have a acceptable condenser for cleaning. Get the series 4/6 Bosch units for that.

  • I have a series 6 Bosch, works well. Folks have a series 4 Bosch, also works well. Both heat pumps.

Stayed away from the 'self cleaning' ones as they are far from it.

  • Have a series 6 Bosch that gets hammered, no issues.

  • I bought a cheap Beko and it does the job fine. Have only had it for a year but it was so cheap that even if it only lasts half as long (which I doubt), I'm still better off in the long run.

    • Thanks was just looking at BEKO for no other reason than their 5 year warranty. :)

  • I have a bosh series 2. Paid $1000 inc delivery.

I’m very happy with it. Had it just over 2 years. I use it 3-4 times a week

It doesn’t have a reverse function so if I do bed sheets it can get tangled. But they still seem to be dry. Worst case I just take out the dry stuff and start it again with the remaining clothes but it’s rare.

I always do the full long cycle so it can take a few hours to dry

Another to consider is the aeg however I’m not sure if it has a reverse function. Comes with a 5 year warranty. I just bought an aeg dishwasher and I’m very happy with that so I would definitely consider aeg if my washer stops working.
