Suggestion for Best Single Mattress

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a new king single mattress and would love some recommendations for reliable brands. My main priorities are comfort, durability, and good value for money. I’m open to all types, whether memory foam, hybrid, or traditional spring mattresses.

If you’ve recently bought a king single bed and love it, please share the brand and model! Bonus points for any insights on customer service, warranty, or delivery experience.

Thanks in advance!

  • crown casino EX supplier ???
or even EX 2nd hand mattresses from said supplier.

personally - do love the softness of Crown mattresses (a recent comp on OZB reminded me of this - when saw today in threads).
but certainly don't pay the silly prices for brand new.

  • Pocket spring, not spring. There is a big difference. Also, don't get memory foam unless it has a thick cooling layer (e.g. gel) on top. Otherwise you will sweat to death. I don't find a big difference between mattresses as long as they are pocket spring, come from a store that specializes in furniture or mattresses (not Amazon) and are not the cheapest one in the store. I use a memory foam topper (with gel cooling layer) on top of the mattress for comfort. The stability of the bed and quality of the slats is at least as important as the mattress. I like solid heavy timber beds with flat solid timber slats (the curvy/bendy IKEA slats are horrible).

  • Ended up ordering koala

    • Darn post one day buy the next - gotta give us a chance to respond.

Well if you ditch the Koala via their return policy, I'd be pretty confident you'd find this mob (who's owner posts on here a LOT) to be significantly superior:

Might cost a tad more but you're on it 1/3 of your life - the thing with thiese ones is they're essentially a modular mattress, so rather than toss the entire thing out you can take out, rearrange, alter or replace the layers. So I'd say ultimately it'd likely be cost effective too vs lifespan.

  • Koala mattresses are good - but expensive for what they are.
There are just Hybrid mattresses - similar to what you can get from Zinus, OneBed, Fantastic Furniture etc.
