UPDATED Christopher Nolan Director's Collection Blu Ray Set $53.54 Delivered @ Amazon UK

340

UPDATE 18/12: Now back in stock and even cheaper than before. All prices updated. Was $58.71 when first posted, now $53.54.

Been comparing prices on The Dark Knight Rises and considering this set includes it I think the pricing is pretty good. The Dark Knight Rises alone costs a minimum of $30 pretty much everywhere at the moment.

The set (9 discs) includes The Dark Knight Rises, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Inception, Memento and The Prestige (plus a 44 page book). Definitely no junk movies in this set!

    9 discs but 6 movies

    • Three of the movies are two disc sets - TDKR, TDK and Inception. Still, even with six movies it's less than $10 a pop including a latest release.

    Insomnia? Following? :(

I'd buy it if it included those two.

    • Would be nice to have all of them yes, but if you're Region A capable, Criterion just put a great Blu-Ray of Following last week.

  • +2

I fell asleep watching Insomnia. Will have to give it another go at some stage.

      No pun intended?

      • +1

There is no pun; more of a funny coincidence if anything.

        • +1

Definitely a funny coincidence. I'm normally a big fan of Nolan's work.

      • +2

        Irony, not pun

        • yeah you're right

        I didn't really enjoy Memento, as far as i can recall… :P

    • -1

Did you also keep forgetting the plot while watching Memento?

  • Love Nolan's (most of) movies but when does a director get more famous than his movies?

    • lolwut

The Dark Knight is a household name, Christopher Nolan isn't. Ask anyone that isn't a young male or movie buff who Christopher Nolan is and chances are they won't know.

      • Kubrick? Hitchcock? Perhaps Tarantino? Not very often really.

        • Exactly, Nolan hasn't done enough in my opinion.

    • Michael Bay does.
But that's more so for his shitness as a director.

    • It's Region B

    • +1

This is region B? Bit harsh to neg the deal on the basis that you can get other boxsets cheaper and it will probably come down in price in the future

    • +3

Talk about an uninformed rant and vote.

    • +3

I am thinking of negging this deal as well on the basis that I could probably buy this box set for $2 in the year 2020, when holodisks have become the industry standard.

      • +1

        Correction year 2517

        (the setting of firefly)

  • If I didn't already have half the movies in this set, I'd be all over it!

  • Great deal. Want to see DKR again, and Inception.
I've only got DK on DVD.
    Wasn't a fan of Memento, from memory… :P

You should get your review tattoo'd :)

  • I can't get that to $55, I only get 45.25 GBP or $69.

    Help?

    • Don't forget Amazon takes off the VAT at the last page of checkout…..maybe these are the droids you are looking for…..

      • Nope, I'm at the last page, still 45.25.

        • Appears as if Amazon stock has run out. It might appear again- I imagine they will order in fresh stock as it is also now appearing in the Deals of the Week section.

Keep checking back if you are wanting to order it. I'll try to keep this post up to date but will mark as expired for now.

        • Im getting 58.39 Pound delivered. Price gone up I think, tho it seems to be back in stock.

  • Post has been updated - back in stock and price has dropped further.

  • I bought this when it was $22 delivered yesterday.

They did cancel it overnight though.

  • Great deal - just ordered one. It's nice having a UK debit card with money still left on it sometimes!

  • It was a very good deal, price drop has made it a great deal. I usually try not to buy the box sets, as theres usually a movie you don't want in there, or you get a version which is cut down in terms of special features (which tbh is half the reason I buy BDs)

But this has all the movies I like. Lets hope its good on the additional content as well.

    • Received the package today. Pretty insane speed considering the time of year.
