LiveConnected price increases

Hi,

Have I got it wrong, or have liveconnected recently increased their BYO plan pricing? I'm currently on a medium plan, paying just $11.99, and I've been convincing many to change over to them. But now it seems the plan has gone upto $22 per month.

What are we left with now… Vaya?

This correct? Any thoughts?

Yep they changed a few months ago apparently, I also decided to randomly check their website last night and was suprirsed at how expensive they all were. Very happy with my $11.99 plan and hope I can stay on it for as long as possible. Will not be reccomending them to friends anymore though.

    • I'm in the same boat, on the $11.99 plan also. Will certainly keep it as long as they let me :)

    Epic fail from LC!

      especially against TPG / vaya

  • woah, a big increase.

  • Guess it happens with any company that gets bigger…

    • They are no way as big as TPG…

So I really have no idea what is going through Live Connected's head when they pushed out plans that are completely unlike the ones they had before. However when they first posted their deal here on OzBargain back in 2010, they were having advertisement subsidised plans, which again is quite different from their later cheap monthly plans.

Another stage of business plan I guess.

    switch to vaya

    • I was with LiveConnected. I hadn't had a chance to connect the rest of the family over at a decent price, so i've left LiveConnected and gone to Vaya… It annoyed me because I wasted my time and money ($20 setup fee and $12 exit fee) for nothing.

Vaya are ok, but I can't access my account from either iPhone or Android. There's also no method to monitor my quota. LC was capable of both of these things.

  • I think they were hit pretty badly financially a little while ago when some people abused overseas line rental or something (not sure of the details) and hence their lack of one of the international services now (roaming? not sure).

This might have pushed them to raise prices to try and get more income, but it doesn't seem like a good idea.. their only real selling point was the very low price.
