How I Use Survey Rewards and Gift Cards to Prepay My amaysim Service

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a method I’ve been using to prepay my amaysim mobile service, especially if you earn rewards from surveys or studies.

I’ve tested this process with multiple study companies, and it’s worked every time. So far, I’ve redeemed over $200 this way, which translates to 5 full recharges, not even counting the ones I’ve already used!

If you’re like me and often receive gift cards as rewards, here’s how you can turn them into prepaid credit for your amaysim account:

Step 1: Redeem Gift Cards from Surveys or Studies

1. Choose either in the multi brand gift card link/website:

• Coles Gift Cards, which can be used to buy amaysim recharge vouchers at Coles.

• Or, if available, amaysim recharge vouchers directly from Prezzee or another platform.

Important Notes:

• Woolworths gift cards will not work for prepaid vouchers.

• If you’re choosing a Coles Gift Card, make sure it’s not a Coles Grocery Gift Card, as those can only be used for groceries.

Step 2: Buy an amaysim Recharge Voucher

If you’ve redeemed Coles Gift Cards:

1. Go to a Coles supermarket (this does not work at Coles Express or their new name, Reddy Express).

2. At the self-checkout, select an amaysim recharge voucher for the amount you want.

3. If you’re paying with multiple gift cards, choose the “Split Payment” option and scan/apply each gift card until the full amount is covered.

4. After paying, your receipt will include the recharge code.

Step 3: Redeem the Recharge Voucher

1. SMS the recharge code from your receipt to 568.

2. When you get an SMS reply asking how to use the credit, don’t reply. This ensures the credit is added to your account as balance rather than being directly applied to a plan.

3. You’ll get an email confirmation titled “Recharge Successful”—this just means the credit is in your account, ready for future use.

Step 4: Auto-Renew from Credit

• amaysim will automatically use your account credit to recharge your plan on the next renewal date.

• If your credit runs out, your linked payment method will be charged.

Why I Like This Method

1. It’s a good way to use my survey rewards: I can turn rewards from studies and surveys into mobile credit without spending out of pocket.

2. I don’t need to shop at one supermarket: This method works wherever Coles stores are available, and I’m not locked into one retailer.

3. I don’t need to worry about leftover gift card balances: By combining multiple gift cards, I can use up any remaining balances without waste.

Pro Tip for Easier Scanning

For smoother checkout when using Coles Gift Cards:

1. Add the gift card barcode to an app like Stocard (or a similar wallet app).

2. Scan the barcode from a different device, and use the Notes feature to store the gift card’s PIN.

3. Edit the card’s name in the app to something like “Coles $50 Gift Card” so it’s easy to find at checkout. To do this, hit the three dots, select Edit Card, and update the Description field with the name.

For Study and Survey Participants

This method is particularly helpful if your survey or study platform only pays in gift cards. Using this process, you can effectively turn your rewards into prepaid credit for your mobile plan without spending extra!

Confirmation from Coles

Just to confirm, Coles's Gift Card Company called Gift Cards has stated that their gift cards can be used to purchase prepaid vouchers at Coles when I spoke to them and The terms don’t restrict this. However, this does not work at Coles Express or Reddy Express, and it’s important to avoid Coles Grocery Gift Cards, as they are strictly for groceries.
