Was looking for affordable waterproof hiking shoes. For branded shoes with Gore-tex waterproofing, these seem well-priced. Reviews are good, and they typically sell for about $200 (RRP well above that). About $4 cashback applied in my case too.

  Salomon have a rep for using quite slender lasts on their shoes - so beware if you've wide feet or bunions etc.

    That's what half sizes are for! Extra width, no extra length.

      Not sure if your making a statement about how you think things should be or how you thinks things are, but I'm pretty sure Salomon do genuine half sizes. As in, the shoe is longer. They also do Wide versions of SOME of their shoes. But that's quite separate to half sizing.

      So you could have 10 wide or 10.5 wide.

  I was looking this morning for the best deal on these shoes and this is $70 cheaper than I could find. This will be my 4th pair. They usually last 3-4 years. I always have two on the go.

  The X-Ultra Pioneer GTX's are also on sale and they are great. I use them for everything, walking, hiking and travel. They aren't the lightest Salomon's but they don't wear out too quickly either.

  Salomon for me are expensive considering they wear out quickly from my experience. However, they are a go to for me as they are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
