Can anyone recommend first hand a simple, standalone, free, no malware/spyware file transfer/browser ftp app for Fire TV?

  tried the android vlc version, couldnt find a ftp link just wants to point to a shared media folder

Depends on what you wanna do , for apk installation you can use adb

  downloader app allows pretty easy sideloading of apk…just need to transfer a simple text .m3u file for custom IPTV list, cheers!
