Most likely the same except no built-in grinder, which I prefer anyway.
Barista express you can adjust the extraction temperature. May be useful depending on what beans you use. Otherwise, probably similar shot quality and milk frothing.
How does this compare to the bambino plus?
I have this and ordered a bambino plus this week. It's not bad but I think the bambino plus's instant heat up and auto milk frother is worth it.
And this takes too much space for what it does.
It's alright as a budget machine but I'd go with the bambino at least.
Fair enough, I wonder if the Bambino has better temperature stability / internals given its price versus relative size / # of components
This is a great machine to learn on. You'll need a scale to weigh shot volume and switch off extraction when you reach the desired amount. I believe the Bambino has a programmable shot volume. One minor quirk is that water comes out of the shower screen unevenly - more on the right side - and may lead a high chance of channelling. The ergonomics and workflow are great.
