Got gifted some Amazon gift cards so decided to buy the new iPhone 16 Pro/Max on Amazon. just found that Amazon doesn’t price match, has anyone had any luck? Does Amazon historically drop price of new iPhones on Black Friday?

They don’t price match from user requests
If another comparable competitor has it on promo, maybe. No chance they will price match grey sellers.
Maybe the better way if you find a good price not on Amazon is to just buy that and use Amazon for other purchases as required.
Just curious what are main differences with apple ios and android os?
Use the gift cards for toilet paper and such, and use the toilet paper and such money you would have spent and now saved on iPhone 16 Pro Max at the store you trust that has it the cheapest.
It’s a new model, usually not on sale until they get the green light from Apple. If you buy now, you have until 31/01/2025 to return it.
Be careful and think twice. I was burnt badly with an expensive electronics purchase from Amazon. Essentially I received another person's package in the locker and Amazon insisted on returning the item I did not receive before I could get a refund.
