Affordable and Reasonably Durable Zero Drop Shoes

My family has been wearing zero drop shoes for around a decade. Do you wear zero drop shoes and if so, which ones?

I'm looking for affordable and reasonably durable zero drop shoes such as Dunlop Volleys but maybe with a different look as opposed to Vibrams, but will consider if there is a deal (I don't mean family affiliate, etc.). Also, boat shoes are not durable enough.

  • I hate any shoe with a heel.
I am a regular wearer of the Merrel glove ranges. I even have a pair of the leather tough gloves that I can get away with in more formal environments.

    • Cheers. I will investigate the Glove range which seems the best value of the Merrell range.

    Crocs.

  • Are these just for running, or do they help with just walking around at the office and stuff too?

    • Everything.

  • You need advice from a foot specialist, if you have existing foot/ankle/knee problems.
It may mean making the choice between using orthotics/arch supports and not using them.
TSLA Men's Trail Running Shoes are a good option I selected after researching this question.
I avoided Vibrams when I learnt that the divison of footwear into individual toes is not benefical.
Volleys or anything with a thick sole is not minimalist.
Increasing feeling/feedback to the nerves in your feet is a good idea.
Minimalist footwear can increase foot and leg strength and balance over time.
(Aliexpress and Temu have bargain offerings that are less sturdy, but may be all you need).
Make sure you properly transistion between footwear and watch YouTube Vids to learn more.

    • I don't have any health problems. I'm fit and walk/run/play sports in zero drops for 10 years. Just canvassing other people's experience with zero drop shoes and options.

      Agreed.

However, I don't want too minimalist where I have to change shoes every couple of months after they wear out.

I like going bare feet in the garden/doing gardening and will do more.

I was thinking of trying these. How true are they for sizing? You buy them from AliExpress?

      • I bought mine from Amazon AU.
"Sizing information: * Alert: True to size : Recommend ordering usual shoe size (If you are in between sizes, please 1/2 size down)
        ex: usual size MEN 7 (D) > MEN 6.5(D)" >> I agree with this.<<

They have a roomy toe box as you would expect.
My flat feet did not mind them, but they do feel different and better.
Try to get the better designs/colours as they do look quite different.

Amazon return policy:*Eligible for change of mind returns: (which may include size issues.)

        • Cheers.

How long have the shoes lasted you if you've had them for a longish time? How often do you use them - e.g. 10k steps a day on average?

    • Any deals of seeing a foot specialist to find out what kind of shoes we should all be wearing?

I never knew shoes without heels were called Zero Drop shoes. I call them sneakers.

    • Here is how to measure your foot so you can get the right shoes: whatever you may want to troll around in.

Ohh! I meant to say stroll.

        • Well played sir but I deny any ulterior motive in posting my comment

    • Most sneakers have at least a 10mm heel and most have more, which is noticeable to people like me who run in close to zero drop shoes
