Any Tips - Redemption Flight / Hotels etc - ADL to Las Vegas and Then on to Snow Fields (Japan. Maybe)

We were kicking the tyres on a snow trip to Japan… so naturally, the other half woke me up to announce she just bought Killers tickets (in Vegas..of course) on Jan 22.

Award Hacker has One World flights to Vegas for around 56k QFF points - Eco (no premium cabins).

Just wondering if there is a way to wedge in a Japan leg on the way back?

(or open to US snow field options that wont cost $$$$ and have 9 mile long lift lines).

Hoping for something like the AA Pacific Islands hack- (where it's 50k points back to Sydney, but only 15k points if you go through Sydney and finish in Japan).

Lastly, any Vegas tips (hotels etc)? Guessing I better start listing my kidney on Marketplace!

    My biggest tip is go to the Grand Canyon for a sightseeing trip. Las Vegas looks pretty good at night but it is none too attractive during the day. If you stay away from the big casinos you can probably get reasonable accomodation costs, but it may not be very flash. We stayed at Rio Suites about 20 years ago and that was OK. At least it didn’t feel like the room next door was being rented out by the hour. Vegas used to be cheap at one time because the gamblers were subsidising people’s rooms but the exchange rate is killing us now.

    With the Japan stopover is there anything you can do with an around the world ticket?

    Why not ski Mammoth Lakes or North Lake Tahoe? Had a quick look at ADL-LAX return: 186,200 points + $986.82. If you could work with the dates: ADL-LAX-HND-ADL 264,800 + $1804.52. Vegas (cheap) hotel tip: Sahara
