Setting up YouTube Premium Family Plan with Indian Payment Method

Hi all, I recently found a friend whose relative in India can provide access to an Indian bank card.

We’re planning to set up new Gmail accounts to use with a YouTube Premium family plan. I'll be the family manager and I use iPhone.

I have a few questions:

  1. Do all the Gmail accounts in the family plan need to be created using an Indian VPN?
  2. Should I configure all new Gmail accounts before making the YouTube Premium purchase? If yes, how do I setup these family Gmail accounts?
  3. What’s the best/working method to purchase the family plan while staying in Australia but using an Indian bank card?

I’ve read that setting up the accounts carefully can avoid issues later. Any advice or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

      Respect the hustle

    • Yeah, it worked out pretty well! That friend recently moved in to share the house with me, and he had no clue about chopper. So it’s a win-win for both of us. By the way, any advice related to the questions I asked? Would really appreciate it!"

      • In my experience when I had an Indian YouTube

        1. No

        2. You can change the account later but did need a vpn

        3. No experience

The hurdle I found with India was a VPN that worked with Youtube, even ones with physical servers there kept resulting in Youtube displaying an error message.

    • I have got nordvpn paid version. so, still is there issue with connecting to VPN?

      • You'll have to try and check. None of the paid versions worked when I tried it.

Enable your VPN and go to to the renew/sign up page and see if it quotes you in Indian Rupees.

So long as you can clear that hurdle, you should be fine.

  • Why not ask your friend's relative to create the gmail accounts too and you can change passwords later. Send them something nice later as a thank you.
