290

Umart & MSY surcharges: 0% direct deposit, 0.9% card, 1% on all other payments

While many people are interested in getting 2~4tb SSD, I'd like to share some love for people with low budget still get to enjoy decent m.2 SSD.

I understand 1TB won't satisfy a lot of the users but hope to give more option for people other than $140+ option for SSD.

It will also come with free cloning software if you're not very familiar with upgrading out of your old HDD, 2.5 SSD or even older SSD with smaller storage etc.

Company PCByte and MSY are all part of the Umart group, hence they all share the same discount.

Same as the SP SATA deal, avoid

    Check the specs progression:

Reviews and launch: Phison E21T + Micron 176L TLC
Immediate post review swap: Phison E21T + Micron 176L QLC
Year later: Maxio MAP1602 + infamous YMTC 128L TLC

    • Are there quality control issues with these products? Thanks for the heads up.

  • I have a 2016 HP Probook. The manual states the laptop supports m2 flash drive up to 256gb. Do you think that is a hard rule?

    • +1

In my experience you'll be fine but it will still be a risk. Note these are pretty low quality make sure to backup your data.

      • Thanks. I think I'll pass. It is my main computer, so I would rather spend a bit more and get something more reliable and higher quality.

    • Which model as the year doesn’t confirm type eg. HP Probook 450G4. The manual most likely refers to max capacity avail on varios models.

      M.2 Slot
      1x 2280 OR 2240 SATA III (B key)

You need an M.2 SATA drive, not M.2 PCIe

Yor are in the same boat as the guy in the other SP deal thread

SATA drive prices are terrible value and based on how old your laptop is, you are better off with either of these 2 options:

      1. Buy a ~$250 refurb laptop that will be much faster and come with a 256GB drive
      2. Buy a new laptop with current specs, new warranty and new battery
  • What ever speed it is it's still a bargain
