Sounds like you've had a few already
The stumbling and terrible English is me sober sadly!
Thanks OP! these taste great. The 4x pack usually goes for ~$24
Same price as Liquorland a few months back not a bad deal.
How is this compared to -196?
Ever drank a Solo? Just imagine that.
Thanks. Was wondering why related product shows Solo.
When it launched it was literally called Hard Solo
Understandably that was a bit on the nose for regulators.
I keep hearing that, but they really don't taste much like regular solo, an extremely different after taste. Which I guess is to be expected, but I kept hearing that it tasted the same. Suntory -196's are far nicer in taste.
I've tried 2x it is horrible haha but I guess if still selling is because someone is buying.
This is "cider" not vodka?
The marketing works well.
Fat lamb or Kopperberg/mercury is like half the price per drink.
It's vodka (or just "grain spirit"). It doesn't say "cider" anywhere. Cider is taxed at a lower amount.
If you want the cheapest price per drink to just get yourself tanked with though, go with wine, it has the lowest tax (unlike everything else which is based on the amount of alcohol, wine is based on the wholesale price to the retailer).
If you really want to trash your liver, try O'Donnells irish cream from Aldi. It's basically fortified wine, milk powder and flavouring.
Does anybody happen to know:
It's odd that I can't see an official brand website for these. And all the retailers don't display ingredients either.
Not sure if it's cider or vodka too, most sites have limited descriptions of it.
Upon further research it turns out that:
A Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) is not required on alcoholic beverages unless a claim requiring nutrition information is made. Alcoholic beverages may voluntarily include a NIP. The inclusion of a NIP does not constitute a nutrition content claim.
Which is a bit of a shame, since these are basically alcoholic soft drinks (which would have the NIP).
Definitely not cider. It’s ethanol, same as seltzer. Link
Can you please clarify what you mean by ethanol?
Red flag for me, usually if it tastes too good it contains a lot of sugar or artificial sweetener.
Hard Rated Zero Sugar 4 x 375mL
Ingredients:
Carbonated Water, Neutral Spirit, Food Acids (330,331), Natural Flavours, Sweeteners (950, 952, 951), Preservative (211), Carthamus Extract.
Suntory 196 is .3g carbs, 122 calories (from alcohol) and it sweetened with Sucralose iirc. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too far away. Advertising something as zero sugar and selling it with carbohydrates would be a rather bold decision to make given diabetics and those on limited carbs would be up in arms.
Or just add your favourite mix to regular / sugarfree solo. Anyone been down this rabbit hole?
Seems logical to me but what will happen to all the marketing people employed to promote hard solo?
✋🏾 Suger Free Lemonade from Aldi with Bulletit Whiskey + Lime (most expensive part) 😂😅
Love these thanks op
$35 for a ten pack. Ay lmao
$35 for a bottle of cheap vodka + 5L of coles lemon drink will make 15 equivalent drinks of approx 375ml @ 4.5% for just over $40
these get you hammered very easily. but the spirits used isn't the best and will give a raging headache afterwards even if you drink a heap of water.
Yeah if you drink a 10 pack in 2 hours 4.5% is not "hard".
mix 2lt Solo, 700ml Vodka and 700ml White wine will get ya rockin!
5% discount e-gift cards at NRMA too
Surely they could've come up with a better name than hard rated……
Hard Solo was confiscated
Thanks OP!
Stumbled across Hard Rated Lemon Mango on their website but says unavailable but the normal flavours will do :D
