I wouldn’t buy it hoping for the cloud feature though - still not available on console yet despite being around for a long time.
Apparently this same update has improved streaming quality though which is nice.
How does it go for online gaming? Every time I've tried to play CoD or any FPS where latency is a big deal on remote play, it's been painful

I doubt it since it’s pretty new and any new model wouldn’t make this redundant anyway.
Unsure what an upgrade would bring. I assume an OLED display and Bluetooth audio would be two things that could come in if they revise the hardware. Unsure if there’s anything else that’s super obvious. As a streaming device it shouldn’t need too much processor wise to function, and I don’t see this line getting on-device local play.
Remember Sony controllers drift in approximately a year. They have Hall effect solutions but they stopped using it since ps3 because it’s more profitable to ask players to buy new controllers. Think before buying it.

Digital foundary recommends you try streaming it to your pc to test how well your network is before buying mine can only stream at 720P and has bad input lag I can only imagine how bad this would be.
Plenty of ones on marketplace for around $200 with minimal use
