Hi everyone, I'm deciding between two 98-inch TVs:
1️⃣ TCL 98" C655 QLED Google TV
2️⃣ Blaupunkt
There's a $1000 price difference between the two, and I’m wondering if the extra cost is justified. Does anyone have experience with either? How’s the picture quality, smart features, and overall value for money?

This is bit like choosing between an aneurysm and a stroke.
Blaupunkt is no longer the premium car stereo brand it was in the 90’s and 00’s, the name has been sold a couple of times and is now attached to the lowest of low end electronics (think Ffalcon, Bauhn, Panaphonics, etc.)
TCL is a slightly better low end electronics manufacturer. Their units are great for cartoons but are horrible for watching sport on as they are very poor at handling motion. A major benefit in purchasing this tv would be membership of the coveted TCL cult.
Both of these units have extremely poor picture quality and weak smart features (slow processors, clunky operating systems, etc.). The TCL is better value for money.
think Ffalcon, Bauhn, Panaphonics, etc.
How does it stack up against the leading knockoff brands like Magnabox and Sorny?

Yep, and I’ve never seen one that can handle motion or with accurate colours.
It would wanna be something special to be worth $1000 more…. thats a lot of adverts.
Blaupunkt is trash. TCL high number series are decent, but their base range are "ok" only.
Consider an 85" in a better brand.

If I was spending $2k+ on a TV which would be hard to move to return for repairs etc, I certainly wouldn't be looking at Blaupunkt. Save that sorta stuff just for a bedroom tv
The TCL has also been close enough to the Blaupunkt price
