That's a great deal but why isn't there a single DAB radio that lets you connect Bluetooth headphones? I don't want to use my dab radio as a Bluetooth speaker thank you.

Not ideal, but you can get a device that plugs into the earphone jack that transmits Bluetooth for a couple of dollars. They need a USB socket for power, or there are rechargeable ones.

    • Why not just listen from your phone ?

There's about a 40 second delay for raido sreams in Australia. If you are a talkback junky 40 seconds is an eternity.

        • You call & listen using your phone for talkback radio.

        • And also does not work for the queue to call type competitions - I get it.

Even DAB has a delay over FM and gives FM listeners a bit of an advantage. Seconds can make a difference.

You'd think with all the available technology these days tthey could bring it all in sync wouldn't you.

  • These are not good for listening to the footy whilst at the game…

    • Ok for fhe FM band. Just dont use the DAB

Am keen to get one, but thinking about what situations would we use DAB radio if we have access to internet streams of those stations?

      Am keen to get one

      Why?

    • If you don't want a delay. For e.g. talkback listeners.

It would be better if this could connect to your Bluetooth headset , not other way around:P

  • This is $20 and is rechargeable. The Panasonic someone shared is $100 without batteries. Huge difference. Can anyone with experience comment? What am I losing going with the $20 radio? Smaller speaker?

    • I'm sure you get whay you pay for.

If you want a really decent portable DAB with bluetooth and FM, I've found the JBL Tuner XL really good. Maybe a bit more bass would be nice but for it's size it's great and lasts almost a week of daily listening on the battery.

It's not on special at the moment though it's listed for $245 at retailers. I paid about $170 for it at the time.

  • Ffs they just sent me an FM only model. Look whose clumsy now!
