I barely see this game drop below $100, so seems like a good deal.

kinda sad this game won't win anything for Game Awards. Any other year without Rebirth it would've won Best Score and Music without a doubt, it's almost as good as Nier:Automata's.
Sorry but no score is "almost as good as Nier:Automata's"
Haha fair, I think I had the soundtrack on repeat the whole year after I finished Automata. I’ve been doing the same with Stellar Blade’s OST since it finally dropped in its entirety a few weeks back on Spotify, so might be some recency bias here :)
@spast1ka: IMHO, nier replicant > nier automata based on number of god tier tracks. Kaine's salvation, email's theme and song of the ancients vs amusement Park boss & weight of the world.
Might be recency bias for Stellar blade but like I said, SB doesn't hit the same highs but overall on average, it's better.
SB is nier (pun intended) nier automata level.
Also, how amazing was KO♪ S→TA↗NI→KO↘ boss theme?? (Removed official name to avoid spoiler)
@azngamer: Weird I thought Automata’s was alot better than replicant’s overall. Some of the best tracks like Grandma / Destuction and Emil / Despair were remixes of Replicant’s but so many bangers like Sound of the End, Wretched Automaton, Voice of no Return in addition to what you said.
Also not sure what boss theme you’re talking about lol. Stellar blade?
Hmm octopath traveller 2 should have won last year instead of Baldurs gate and I also think it's better than automata
And this year should go to Astrobot. Fingers crossed

I share similar thoughts with your review as well.
It was a joy to slowly work towards the plat trophy for this game on PS5.
I chuckled at the part of the interview where the game director said he was bad at these sorts of games and kept telling the team to dial down the difficulty, ultimately it made it less frustrating for casuals like myself.
I really wish Wukong had a difficulty slider too, even though I didn't have too much trouble with the game. But I know it impacted many people's enjoyment and it suffered review score-wise because of it. The devs promised it wasn't a soulslike, but the defining feature of a soulslike IMO is the lack of a difficulty slider.
The hardest section of Wukong for me was Chapter 2 Tiger Vanguard and Wind Sage when you don't yet have full smash stance unlocked and the thrust finisher, and you don't have many heals. But you can always farm to unlock these.
Tiger in particular feels like it's faster than some of the final bosses. Everything beyond that was pretty straightforward for me. Scorpion is a bit of a difficulty jump but if you get the ability to neutralize his final phase he's also relatively easy.
This is completely different to e.g. Elden Ring where the final bosses are an actual difficultly spike. Or Sekiro where you can't farm at all.
@RedSky: Tiger Vanguard was the second hardest boss in the game for me (as measured by number of attempts to beat.) Only Erlang took more tries in the end.
Same here. I really want to experience Black Myth Wukong story but I just can't beat white clad noble. I beat optional boss wondering wight though but just sucks that I'm still stick on chapter 1.
@azngamer: Watch some guides, he has specific attacks which are reliable very exploitable to get damage in.
by the waifu aesthetics.
Say no more, it’s a yes from me.
$20?
Can't even get DLC for $20 these days.
@YoursTruly: You're getting downvoted because you're making comments in bad taste. It's a genuinely good game with very solid combat that's very well balanced between Souls-like and Casual. You also can't refer to quality of a game yet exclude music or graphics - they're a part of the package as a whole, and done very well in this case.
bad taste
? hmmm…. Yours is certainly good taste…got it.
You also can't refer to quality of a game yet exclude music or graphics
I certainly can.
You're getting downvoted
Downvotes, Upvotes, Nothing….it doesn’t matter to me as much as to some.

Your opinion, My opinion, Their Opinion.
That's one of the games I want to play but can't (sold ps5 in 2022.) guess I will wait for next year to plan on PC.
Grabbed a copy thanks.
Yea dard
GOTY lookingL
Bobba
I’ve heard the latest update really added some extra content to the game.
Photo mode and a few more outfits. Nier Automata DLC also available today but it's paid DLC ($15)
Oh I was talking about the physics update. Is there a newer one?
"Physics" update was October patch. November added photo mode which includes a few quests and outfits along with nier automata dlc.
Should you skip the paid dlc, you still get photo mode and outfits
Are you winning son?
I love this game sooooo much, its just outright fun! If your on the fence about it, play the free demo!!! So many companies try to hide their game so they make you buy it to find out. But not Stellar Blade, try it and see if it connects with you!
I'm not sure if I can trust you
It’s Frankie the Squealer you should watch out for
I wonder when will amazon price match it. Got some credit there and I want to use it up haha
I checked and it's $79 now on amazon
Grabbed this and Metaphor. My Xmas period is sorted.
This is a genuinely very good game and well worth buying.
Most of the negative reviews are from the Woke crowd, game developer likes to create game that people enjoy, rather than game that pushed their political narrative.
Game of the Year, is what it's to you, don't. Check out this video, as you can see IGN is cheating don't want certain games to be game of the year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fWQn8aGe8s&t=363sMost of seem to be along the lines or "it's really good… But not nier automata"
I don't even know what nier automata is so don't care about that comparison and the reviews are spoilt because of this comparison… Like there's no need for a comparison. In the end, it see as a fun game with some bewbs.
Bought now, regret later
I’m waiting for PC release. The game looks good on PS5 (for UE4 game) but don’t expect horizon series good with semi-linear world design (there’s branching paths but all leads to one like Chapters 2/3 of Black Myth Wukong). Stellar Blade has port solid combat + most gamers would likely appreciate the ‘aesthetics’ of the character skins…
I personally rather wait to buy this on PC for both game perseveration purposes + I can truly max out the ‘aesthetics’ and the jiggle physics on my 13900/4090 PC (hopefully >120fps).
I wish people would stop overrating this game, I was disappointed because of the hype, it's decent not amazing, it almost seems like people saying it's amazing haven't played many games or anything half decent for too long, it shouldn't be compared to neir automata at all because that game was great. I was surprised by Wukong this year, I was worried it'd have the same issue but was gratefully surprised but not this
I'd jump on deal but just traded my launch PS5 with the PS5 Pro which means no disc drive :(
They really need to stock the drive again soon.
Buy a slim disc, sell it as slim digital. Many pro owners are forced to do that.
I got it for $69 on big w using a $10 joining credit with free delivery
Copypasta of my Stellar Blade Review:
This game unfortunately has been covered by controversy but it's a solid game, I've finished the game and really enjoyed it.
Stellar Blade - are you after a combat game between hack and slash and souls like game where you feel badass and at the same time feel like you are not button mashing? This is your game.
Platforming part of the game weak though.
Story has been criticised as weak or non-existent but I argue it's there as side quest. Is it as good as Nier Automata? No, director acknowledged he is not good at storytelling but I have to say I was surprised. Nier Automata is a masterpiece but I don't think Stellar blade is any bad either. Stellar blade story wasn't jaw dropping but it does leave some philosophical questions for you to ponder. That's why I would argue there is no good or bad ending.
Music wise, it's nier automata + replicant level personally. Maybe doesn't reach the same highs but I think on average it's better.
Graphics wise, well, that's controversial.
I played Korean dub with English sub and I got a PS5 for this game after watching the two BTS interview with the game director on how he created the game, with clay to model enemies and bosses as well as his interview with Yako Taro (director behind Nier series). No regret buying a PS5 for this game.
tl;dr great combat and amazing music (S tier). Overall, a joy to play and felt badass with combat without it being a cakewalk. Bosses were a great joy to fight against and new updates allows you to fight any bosses in a boss rush mode.
Weak: story not as amazing as nier but I think it's pretty solid if you look beneath the surface. Platforming not great.
Final note: my gosh, what a great variety of enemies and bosses! And really fun parry, witch time equivalent for perfect dodge, dash behind enemies for their blue circle attacks, backflip to expose their weak spot for their purple circle attacks.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Edit: Nier Automata DLC is $15 (released today) but all non collab DLCs are free. Stellar blade also coming to PC.
