Monitors or TVs on Wheels

We're looking for a mobile TV/monitor for watching TV or casting (e.g. Brtibox) that can be easily moved from one room to the next.

I've seen a few options (apologies for huge links - can't see how to just add a hyperlink): Samsung Smooth Smart Monitor M5 M50d 32" Monitor + Moving Stand White

New Smart Touch Screen 21.5/27/32 Inch Stand by Me Wireless Display Android LCD Monitor With Built-in 5H Battery Life Moveable

Or just buy a 30" TV and put it on a stand like this, the cheapest option:

Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Grateful for any advice/help. I'm not on OzBargain all day, so please be patient for replies.

Thanks.

For those kind of prices, why not just put a small TV in each room?

    • Probably right, but hate the idea of screens everywhere.

      • Don't come to my house then…….

TV in the Lounge, TV in the Bedroom, Two TVs in the Office plus 4 Computer Monitors, TV in the Garage.

But in all seriousness, if you do it properly (or get someone to do it for you), then it looks neat with cabling + power all in the wall / behind the TV. Then it is just a TV hanging on the wall with no uglyness of cables everywhere.

Yes, nothing worse than cables everywhere.

You can get a stand with wheels for $70 on Amazon. Spend more on getting a larger screen, 32" is tiny for TV viewing.

I bought this one specifically for bedroom. It's on sale for $98 right now and incredible build quality. Both metal and glass plates finished very well.

It doesn't have wheels, but fairly easy to lift even with 40" TV mounted. There may be similar ones with wheels if you prefer.

      • Thanks, I'll see of it's an option.

  • Thanks.

I've now bought four of these - and I love every one of them equally.

I've purchased a few of the non-castor versions of these because I like the aesthetic

    • Nice. Thanks. Good to know if they work well.

  • A little projector might be cool, if you have white walls in every room, bonus points if it's matte drywall and not glossy paint. Even in daytime some projectors are bright enough to see a watchable image even if it's a fair bit faded.

    • Good idea. I hadn't thought of that. How do they measure up cost-wise? Most of the ones I've seen are pretty pricey.

      • What's your budget? Projectors are relatively cheap. Heck, 10 years ago they were relatively cheap.

        • Thanks.

          This one looked good https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-cinebeam-q-4k-uhd-project…

but if you have any suggestions for good ones at a lower price I'd be interested.

Also, what is the sound quality like?

          • @Lastchancetosee: I don't keep up with projectors so I wouldn't know. But that's exactly the kind of projector I'm talking about. Look at it, it's tiny https://youtu.be/Kc2cZAROjJA?si=d4-hI844gneV0kLF&t=480
And the guy in that video says it's quite bright. Each room you want it in you could figure out the best spot for it and arrange the room around it, like on a shelf, on a table in another room, whatever.

You could get bluetooth speakers for each room and leave them in those rooms, and connect to them when moving the projector in there, otherwise use them for music or whatever.

You may still want a screen or to paint the walls in a special paint or whatever, having just one wall a different colour/texture isn't so weird, say they are feature walls.

May also want to buy some blackout curtains for some rooms, you can see later.

            That's what I'd do anyway.

  • Yes, it's a nice looking bit of technology as well as being functional. I first saw it advertised on Never too Small. I think the walls will be fine - they're smooth and white where we'd want to put it - and I'll look into the speakers.

    • @AustriBargain. My previous comment was meant to reply to you!

  • Thanks for the info on stands. Last question
I hope : can anyone recommended portable projectors in the $500 range that they've used?
