Help Finding CMOS Reset on This Device

https://fccid.io/2A8WM-P8/Internal-Photos/Internal-Photos-66…

I have one of these no name umpc/mini laptops that I accidentally disabled eDP on and therefore any display(int or ext)…..

I seem to be blind to the presence of a cmos pin or battery reset on this device…

So anyone that knows what I'm talking about can see it on these pictures please reply…..

On a side note, if I dump the bios, could I edit it(enable eDP) and reflash the rom/bios chip would that work as a last resort?….

Cheers ;)

edit: I suspect I know the bios chip and a coin cell, but pins would be useful….

  • What pictures

  • There's probably a coin cell battery keeping the BIOS info alive. Unplug it.

    • -1

I think it exists under the otherside of the board…. might have to try again…

  • my guess would be under the m2 slot card or the connector with red+back wire near the fan outlet

before fiddling, make sure to touch some bare metal on something earthed, like your PC case, to discharge any static charge you might be holding

  • Page 7 has the battery, but gave up after trying to figure out where it was plugged into as OP has supplied photos' but missed the most vital photo where the battery plugs in to see if there are any pads that can be shorted. May be go old school and short the battery connector pins on the PCB.

    • You were far more patient than me- I was not prepared to scroll through several pages of clearly irrelevant FCC photos just to look for a battery connector.

  • Reset pin-hole in underside of the device. Maybe?

    • Don't believe I've seen one, good suggestion though :)
